Best to deal in facts rather than take notice of the opinion of people who don`t know what their talking about.

Crack on with the DHMEF form, put it all in a letter along with any evidence and send to your creditors.

Initial collection activity can be quite aggressive, as these are non priority debts, they know they are last on the list for payment when people have debt issues, so their bark is much worse than their bite.

I’ve just looked and my debts are not quite over 10000, and I’ve seen where people pay into these and still have debt issues as they take all the money in commission

Avoid any firm that advertises as "helping" with CCJs or bailiffs and then offers you an IVA.

Talk to Stepchange. A temporary DMP, possibly a token payment plan of just £1 a month, and then getting a DRO in 6-12 months when the value of the car dropped below 4k sounds like a better way forward.

IVA`s were introduced for homeowners with massive debts who could not go bankrupt for fear of losing their home, they are unsuitable for virtually everyone else.

Unfortunately the regulation of these arrangements leaves a lot to be desired, and they are notorious for being mis-sold to people they are unsuitable for, such as yourself.

Don`t be influenced by debt management companies who cold call you, they are simply looking to sign you up regardless as they profit from every arrangement they sell, do not take any notice of them.

Might be a good idea to stop talking on the phone to anyone that wants to talk about your debts.

You set out your position in your first post and I thought we quickly settled on a sensible strategy of asking for writeoffs with the support of a MH professional and a DMHEF evidence form.

That was only a few weeks back.

met with my mental health guy today been waiting for an appt for 6 weeks . Agreed I would send the DMHEF to him and he will sign and stamp it. Meanwhile sent a letter to the first company tonight as they have passed over the smallest debt to MoorGroup? Already Advised DMHEF to follow and emailed it to the company Newday also.
going to work on it tomorrow and get it sorted with them all over the next fortnight
