Good Morning My Lovely Friends.
Welcome to the new thread. Alas the budget for 2026 will be as tight as ever but I'm determined to live La Dolce Vita.
What a glorious morning. Sun streaming through my bedroom window as I lounge in bed, what a lovely way to start the day. I watched the sunrise whilst drinking my coffee and scrolling through a few of my favourite websites.
I am soooooo looking forward to a fresh start this year. I have lots of plans and ideas. A few goals and ambitions to fulfil and hopefully lots of joyous times and experiences.
Ever the eternal optimist I am hopeful that this year is going to be a good one, nay a great one!!!
I have been spending twixmas quietly decluttering my bedroom, a couple of drawers at a time. Today I am going to make a start on my wardrobe......wish me luck. 🤪

Glad to follow, good luck with the wardrobe x3

I have my husband's computer now as he got a new one and I am sitting in a south facing room with the sun on my face and it feels lovely. It is very chilly here outside, however.
I had a big declutter of my wardrobes the past few days. My husband is going to take the donation bag today after I check they are accepting donations.
I'm very excited for 2026. I have lots of things planned for January. I just booked two more shows yesterday.
I have a class tonight and then two meet-ups this weekend. 1 -
Happy new year to all. I decluttered my wardrobe before Christmas, it is so lovely to now be able to easily find what I want. Still have one wardrobe in the spare bedroom to do though - that is my goal for January as I want to decorate that room this year: paint, new curtains and carpet.1

Happy New Year to you all.
A bit of dolce vita is exactly what I need in 2026, so shall be subscribing too.I love January, time to review current plans and make new ones, start a new journal, re jiggle the budget and reflect on last year.I already have a couple of holidays planned and a weekend away …I have a big birthday in March so my daughters are treating us all to a spa weekend, I am also trying to future proof the bungalow before I retire in a couple of years so a bathroom upgrade is on my ‘big spend’ list for 2026 so a tight budget is going to be crucial.
Good luck everyone have a fantastic year with lots of dolce vita.Well Behaved women seldom make history

I just ordered some fun things from Amazon for no reason. Sun catchers, a pair of gold earrings and a book about buddhism. It is very cold and sunny today, but we don't have any snow. I did almost 40,000 steps on Saturday and Sunday as I went on two local walks.
My legs feel tired today. 1 -
Ha ha. I have been looking at buying some sun catchers. They are sitting in my basket on Amazon.......My recent fun purchase, for no reason, but "just because" was a new set of cutlery.Last year I bought a beautiful gold rimmed china dinner service from a charity shop. Absolute bargain for £9. I decided I really "needed" some gold coloured cutlery to complement it. The set arrived yesterday. Perfect match. Bonus.....the set was reduced, 30% off.Last year I also treated myself to some new earrings, white gold, with Blue John stones. Blue John is a mineral only found in Derbyshire. It's classified as semi precious but its rarity adds to its value. Apparently there's not much left underground, the seams are running out, so I decided to treat myself when I last visited the Peak District.I also intend loosening the purse strings a bit this year. I just need to get my tax sorted out (currently being clobbered) but hopefully things will be resolved once we are in the new tax year. My cash flow should improve quite dramatically. This year, as I continue decorating my home, I am going to be adding MORE, more luxury, more colour, even a bit of bling. I have bought my crown derby and royal Worcester out of storage and am actually using or displaying it. Same with the Crystal glassware. No more saving stuff for one day.If not now, then when.......that one day is today. 🤪
In the same vein, for Christmas my youngest son bought me a gorgeous large planter for the garden. I am going to buy myself a nice bay tree for it.My legs feel tired just thinking about your 40,000 steps........lol.
Welcome Mrs-motivated. Sounds like you've got some exciting plans. Me too. Revamping myself, my home, my life.6 -
Sun catchers, earrings and cutlery sound wonderful just because purchases….mine was much duller but my new washing up bowl arrived today, although it is much brighter than my previous one.
i was back in the office today after the Christmas break, so took the dogs for an early morning snowy, cold and crisp walk in the park. It was a lovely way to start the day all wrapped up in my new hat, scarf and gloves (courtesy of Santa) and it brought a smile to my face watching the ducks and geese skating on the lake.
hope you all had a good day too.Well Behaved women seldom make history

Good news.......
My 20 year old car passed the MOT with flying colours. Again. She may be a bit long in the tooth and her paint work a bit faded but she does the job. 😁. Was tempted to upgrade last year but decided to wait and see whether she would pass. She gets another reprieve. 😁5
