Good Afternoon Lovely Ladies.

Was shocked to see how long it's been since I posted. No excuse really, just "life".

Update re knee……had an injection, it lasted about 4 weeks. Consultant rang me to check my progress. Explained that the effects were very short lived and he has confirmed what I suspected, that we are beyond injections now and I should consider knee surgery. I am desperate to avoid taking that route. There is a 20% failure rate and I just know I would be in that 20%. Lol. I have been reading about collagen so I'm going to give that a go. 🤞. Worth a try,

Still car free and honestly I am perfectly happy. I am managing very well with online shopping, and the odd taxi. Funnily enough I am spending less on food, even though I am no longer shopping at Aldi and Lidl. I think it's because I am better organised and am not succumbing to implulse buys and top up shops.

I am looking at getting more services at home……hair, chiropodist etc. Over the years I have learned that there are very few problems in life that don't have a solution. Often all it takes is a change of mindset. Home deliveries and services should help keep the taxi bill in check.

Have had a lovely few weeks, lots of family celebrations. Went to see Devil Wears Prada 2. We dressed up, indulged in posh treats and prosecco. Good fun. The cinema had set up a special "red carpet" area where you could take photos. So I can finally say I have had a "red carpet moment". Lol.

I have put the house decorating etc on hold for now whilst I concentrate on my garden. Hoping to plant my dahlias later today although it keeps raining on and off. My roses need a bit of TLC after being battered by heavy rains yesterday.

Doing my best to eat healthily, take my vitamins and supplements and some gentle exercise.

It's all good……

I've never even seen the first Devil Wears Prada film, for some reason.

I too am getting my hair cut at home as someone gave me a number. It is so much easier than sitting in a salon for hours as I don't need it blow dried at home. Next time she said she would cut my husband's hair too and she would give us a discount, which is good.

I'm off out for a walk today and then my friend wants to look in Primark and then we are going for lunch. It looks like it will stay dry, luckily.

Good Morning Lovely Ladies.

Devil Wears Prada films are fun. Although, without giving too much away and spoiling the first one for those who haven't seen it, I have to say that I wasn't impressed with Nate, Andie's romantic partner…..I'll leave it there.😂.

Has anyone tried the "Amazon Hauls". Just ordered a bunch of stuff, some summer clothes and some kitchen ware. Prices are unbelievable, no idea what the quality of clothing is like. I'm really not expecting much from the clothes but as it's just "at home lounge wear" and a couple of sun dresses (ha, not sure why I'm bothering with those - currently chucking it down - again!!) Anyway thought I'd give it a whirl.

This soggy weather isn't doing my knee any good. Lol. After debating with myself for a while I have ordered some collagen powder, it's worth a try. 🤞.

Other than that no real news, still need to sort out a haircut.

Good morning lovely ladies. Thankfully cooler here although I gather theres another heatwave on the horizon. I used to love the heat although even I found 1976 gruelling and I was a lot younger then. Now I'm afraid anything over 25C and I just wilt and become good for nothing.

As for my poor garden, it suffered even more than I did. A lot of my new plants just got fried and even some of the more established shrubs are looking very unhappy. I am not going to rush to restock, instead I will treat the soil with claybreaker and fertiliser and let it rest for a while. Mother Nature will bounce back if we give her a helping hand.

I mentioned Amazon Hauls. The clothing was "OK", nice styles and colours but I wasn't too impressed with the fabrics. The linen items were real linen although very thin and somewhat see through but the cotton items weren't pure cotton, they had a high polyester content. As I expected, somewhat hit and miss. Ok for pottering about the house but I wouldnt go out in them. They do look cheap and they probably won't wash well. Wont bother again. The household items and canvas art prints were fine.

Still not got round to getting a hair cut. Having come this far I might leave it to grow a bit longer and see how I like it. I will get a friend to just trim the back a bit to tidy it up.

I have bought some collagen powder and also some bone broth, mainly to try and help my joints but I wont be sorry if my skin and hair benefit too.

Other than that no real news. 75 next week. 😱😂🤣.

Morning Peeps,

I have managed to survive the wonderful British weather (man made 🤨) and topping up my freckles. Will continue to make the best of it anyway. In keeping with what we are aiming for I spent £9 pensioner rate on my hair cut. Not sure if I've mentioned before that I use a barbers shop. It would be £14 but needs must 😉 Still too many clothes, found some summer ones lurking in the loft. They are out of hiding and now being worn.

Happy belated birthday @helensbiggestfan.

i’ve bought loads of lovely things recently from an independent boutique i’ve been going to and i’ve had a few compliments on my clothes. We’ve just got back from a week in Spain and i bought myself a leather handbag and some white cotton trousers. White clothing scares as i’m always spilling stuff, but the boutique owner is adamant that white is the easiest thing to wash.

ive started decluttering, sorting and organising at home today and tackled our bedroom. Tomorrow, i’m sorting my study and there are two drawers in the kitchen i need to go though at some point. im feeling ruthless!!!

That is strange Chanie as I just bought some clothes from an independent shop in Leigh-on-sea as we have lots of them here. I just bought a couple of white dresses as I'm going to Ibiza in September and I have had compliments on my new dresses too! I hardly ever wear white, but the shop owner said it is a very summery colour.😁

I bought a few cover up dresses to go over my swimming costumes and I bought a brown and gold dress. I wouldn't normally ever buy those colours but the owner said as I'm blonde they would suit me. I bought some gold wedge sandals too to match.

I still need to get some swimming costumes that are flattering and to get a bikini wax, lol.

@Wednesday2000 i can totally ‘see’ you hanging out in Ibiza, as i know you enjoy going to concerts etc.

@helensbiggestfan how did your Amazon haul go? i keep seeing it come up on my account, but haven’t bought anything. i’ve heard it’s Amazons equivalent to Shein and Temu - if that’s anything to go by, the quality will random. DD loves Shein and buys all of her clothes from there and somehow, my basket always ends up with loads of junk items that DD adds.

i’ve been enjoying the hot weather - well, more the consistency, as i’ve enjoyed going to work and other places and not having to worry about whether or not i need to bring a jacket with me, in case the weather changes.l
