Best cream tea scones

In using up (woe is me) a tub of clotted cream, I've inadvertently compared two brands of scones - Tesco finest and coop irresistible. While Tesco's are larger and softer, they tend to fall apart when applying the clotted cream (which by the laws of science and decency, should be applied first). Coops are smaller, but maintained their integrity.
Does anyone know of any (raisin, other fruit is welcome) scones that might be better?

One of those life skills that everybody should have - MAKE YOUR OWN!
It's really easy and the results are streets ahead of shop bought and cost way less.
Can advance to savory once basics mastered, a hot cheese scone with too much butter is an absolute pleasure.5 -
I made scones quite a bit as a child. Can't remember if I made cheese ones, but I did a very nice apple pie with a cheese pastry.flaneurs_lobster said:One of those life skills that everybody should have - MAKE YOUR OWN!

Just put the jam on first as is the correct way and they should be fine. 😁All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.7 -

How do you get the cream to flatten out if the jam is on first?Statement of Affairs (SOA) link: https://www.lemonfool.co.uk/financecalculators/soa.phpFor free, non-judgemental debt advice, try: Stepchange or National Debtline. Beware fee charging companies with similar names.0 -
Personally I'm a cream first person... But I know the jam/cream first debate is a contentious one. Almost as contentious as the loo roll direction question - hanging sheet at the front... or at the back.3

Unlike milk in tea - anyone with a shred of decorum knows it goes in after the teaEmmia said:Personally I'm a cream first person... But I know the jam/cream first debate is a contentious one. Almost as contentious as the loo roll direction question - hanging sheet at the front... or at the back.
Although I do loved to superheat a chai teabag in milk and then adding boiled water - strangely comforting.
No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.1 -
I was told milk before tea came from a time when the china that tea cups were made from would crack if the boiling water went in first. Unverified.Rosa_Damascena said:

Or how do you pronounce scone. Is it scone, or is it scone? Personally I say scone, but I know a few people who insist it's scone.Emmia said:Personally I'm a cream first person...
