Hi,
If you go to the .gov website to check if a vehicle is taxed ( road tax evasion ) you are able to enter a vehicle registration number. The site will tell you if the car is taxed but will also show the tax class.
A motability vehicle would then show as disabled.SMA 4000TL Inverter, 17 REC 235PE Panels, South facing, roof angle \ `ish, 3995 watt system.Installed Nov 2011.0 -
No it doesn’t. I’ve just checked mine and it doesn’t give that information anymore.nobby1963 said:Hi,

Motability works for a lot of people but you should realise that it is at a cost and you will never own the car.
You will give up the mobility element of your PIP which is £77.05 per week plus any upfront advance payment if you want a decent car - £2500 for a VW Golf as an example.
Therefore to have the use of a Golf for 3 years is approx £14,500 which does include Insurance and Maintenance/Tyres.
At the end of the 3 years you can possibly get about £100 back upon returning the car if it has been looked after and it has no dings or scuffed wheels or you have to pump another £2500 in towards the next car.
Don't forget that if you are on PIP with high rate mobility you can register your personal car as disabled and therefore the road fund license is free.1 -
Even if it did, that wouldn't mean it's Motability, anyone with higher rate PIP can have their vehicle exempt from tax if it's used just for their benefit.nobby1963 said:Hi,

As above, an alternative is to keep the monthly payments and either lease a car yourself, or buy a new or used one.IOWJJBTM2025 said:Motability works for a lot of people but you should realise that it is at a cost and you will never own the car.

The site definitely used to show this information as I had cause to check an abandoned car near a relatives home and there was quite a saga related to why it was left where it was.
I also accept that just because a vehicle is disabled class it doesn’t make it a Motability one.SMA 4000TL Inverter, 17 REC 235PE Panels, South facing, roof angle \ `ish, 3995 watt system.Installed Nov 2011.1 -

Does this mean they used to show this information on the .gov website and others ? but then they restricted this information and stop revealing it now? did some law come in place to stop this date being shown?

Yes gov.uk used to show it and now they don't. No idea if there if there's any law regarding this.Danny_G said:nobby1963 said:

Only the tax class - being disabled - if the vehicle had a road tax reduction applied.SMA 4000TL Inverter, 17 REC 235PE Panels, South facing, roof angle \ `ish, 3995 watt system.Installed Nov 2011.0
