Wednesday continued: DH took a couple of bags out to the bike whilst I was settling up our bill. You can imagine my surprise when the receptionist said the bill was £21 🤔 It transpired that our dinner & the 5th pint hadn’t been logged last night 😅 She was surprised that I could remember exactly what we had eaten 😉 She entered the details & I paid the revised bill which was obviously somewhat higher 🙊 She was decidedly happy & I felt virtuous - so a good result all round 😊 Today turned out to be a nice day for riding the bike - a fair amount of sunshine & slightly warmer getting up to 21°C. Filled up with petrol twice - once after we had visited our first landmark & the 2nd just before we got to our hotel for tonight. No stops other than to take pictures of landmarks so I leave you to imagine how thirsty we were when we arrived at The Inverkip Hotel at 15:50. Once we were in our room DH put the kettle on & we shared a glass of water. I did pay more attention to animal & bird sightings today - cows, sheep, horses, goats, 2 hawks, jackdaws, blackbirds, magpies & seabirds with a dodgy name beginning with ‘s’ & ending in ‘hags’ The scenery today has been stunning - I especially like the wildness of the west coast sea 😊Currently just relaxing & contemplating getting showered & changed for dinner 😉 so a perfect opportunity for me to catch up with the cheerleading:
florianatwobob, good luck with your froglet 🍀 Hopefully you will get a quick response, a reasonable quote & a solution to your little mystery
Florenceem, sounds like you picked the perfect lampshades to complement & enhance your choice of paint colour ☺️ Sorry to hear about the painful night & the painful start to your day 😔 I had been hoping that your visit to the doctor might have come up with a different solution other than taking painkillers 🥺 More excellent decluttering Florenceem 👏
vulpix, well done on eating a couple of frogs yesterday 👏 I will keep everything crossed that 1) you don’t have to wait 14 weeks for an initial consultation & 2) the pest controller called back this morning & has booked you in for an early visit 🤞 Hopefully the weather stayed fine & you managed a little work in the garden 😉
GrannyKate, what interesting information about Portpatrick 🧐 Some excellent decluttering & well done on doing more work on your ancestry booklets 👏 We have a collapsible bucket - nice idea but once it has been collapsed a few times for storage it tends not to stay fully upright ☹️ Although at least our bucket was fit for purpose for a while as opposed to your collapsible washing/ironing basket 😖 Hopefully Sox has forgiven you for subjecting him to his flea/worm treatment 🤞
regnbue, sorry to hear that you had a restless & sleepless night worrying about the annual inspection 😔 Sounds like everything went well & I hope you enjoyed the rest of your day 🤞
QueenJess, I honestly thought that your parents had finally got the message but I see I was mistaken & they have reverted completely back to their old ways of decluttering their stuff to you 😔 😖 😭 I will keep my fingers crossed that your DD has a growth spurt & you can have a massive declutter of her clothes 🤞
_Dolly_Rocker_ , an admirable mission to pay off your mortgage early but don’t forget to have a contingency fund 🙏 NB this is not financial advice but an observation.
Excellent decluttering Rootle 👏
Lovely to meet you someonewhoisworking1 👋 I do hope you will join us as we are a friendly group & love welcoming new people into our Declutterati family 🥹 Looking forward to learning a little bit more about your decluttering journey so hope to see you again soon 😊
florianatwobob, well done on the sales 👏 Every little helps towards your loft fund ☺️ Keeping everything crossed for a reasonable quote from the roofer 🤞
Useful information as usual Floss 👋☺️
We are freshly scrubbed & changed & are just about to head downstairs for dinner. Will see you all later 👋

Not much done today. I did two school runs; came home had a quick shower; went to old village for hair cut popping in to co-op which had no fresh food due to electrical failure 10 days ago; haircut; went to take the washing basket back and got diverted by about 5 miles for gas repairs; called in supermarket as pack ups needed for tomorrow; half an hour at home; met DGS4 and took him to dentist; back home and collected stuff to drop them off at their dads; back home and quick tea and that was today gone! Hopefully tomorrow will be less busy.

No news from the pest control guy, I will phone someone else on Friday.
Did an hour or so cleaning the bricks up,The mortar is tougher than the bricks! re potted some very congested pansies and potted up all the yellow ones to take to DIL's tomorrow. Taking her another big ceramic pot. She has shown an interest in gardening so I am encouraging her. I have already taken strawberry and pea plants. I will try and get a tomato tomorrow.
Groan, we have a 3am start tomorrow. Long story short we are babysitting but have to be there at 6 so son can get the train to London and DIL can get off to a day consultancy at 7am. We have cancelled our trip to Louth but have theatre tickets if you want them Granny Kate or anyone else near by. They cannot be returned. Mr V joined a fb group and offered them but no takers.
I expect I will be awake, then suddenly fall into a deep sleep just as I need to get up.
I have never been to the west of Scotland, it sounds lovely.
Take care all Vx

@vulpixthe we're of Scotland is lovely, I used to have childhood holidays in Ayrshire at my grandparents.
Still seem to be making more mess than i'm tidying :)
Weekend will be for tidying but have put 2 sheets in cs bag now ready to be dropped off.
5 bedding items for donation hub and 4 household ones. Digital decluttering. 2 soaps used to ( only counting when items I don't usually use so could hang around for a v long time).
906 alsonsorted a bank frog and drafted a document for my multi year frog 🐸

I had a long wait for a bus to the shopping centre. I went to Farm Foo.. as they had an offer of 5 creme eggs for 99p. There was a 5 limit but 25 yummy eggs for under £5.
Next I went to M & . to complain about over baked blackcurrant sundaes.
I remembered to take a bag of empty blister tablet packs so decluttered them in Boot.
I didn't have the Morriso..app so put it on my phone before I went out. They had chocolate orang. for 97p but only one left on the shelf.
I got a bus back to the shopping centre - the lift to the toilets was broken so lugged my shopping trolley up 4 flights of stairs. Someone helped me get my trolley down the stairs.
The Rang. still didn't have the lampshades I wanted but I got a frame for a picture. It is the tree of life - I saw it painted by an artist using spray cans. Had it a long time but it was lost in the room of doom until recently.
Finished another gnome - Steven.

Wednesday continued: forgot to mention that when we were shown to our rooms, the landlord/owner advised that the bathroom radiator had a leak & he had called a plumber who might turn up & knock on the door. The plumber duly arrived at 17:30 & spent 20 minutes trying to fix the leak to no avail. So we have a plastic takeaway box to empty once it gets full. Anyway, we go down to dinner & the landlord kindly treated us to our first drinks as an apology for the inconvenience 😊 Dinner was our best so far 😋🤤 DH had a thick mushroom soup with warm ciabatta followed by an Angus steak beef burger with black pudding, pickles & salad with properly chunky chips & a pot of peppercorn sauce followed by a tablet sundae. I had lightly seared trout with beetroot, sliced radish & croutons with a lemon jus, followed by pan fried venison with roasted seasonal vegetables (marrow, carrot, swede) with black pudding mashed potato & a whiskey jus. The venison was melt in the mouth & both DH & I decided it was the winning course 😊 although his mushroom soup was the winning starter 😊 We were back in our room before 21:00. We kept an eye on the football result, which was favourable.
GrannyKate, what a busy day 🤩 I was exhausted just reading about it 😨 Hopefully tomorrow will be a quieter more restful day 🤞
vulpix, how annoying that the pest control guy didn’t call back 😖 Great work cleaning the bricks & repotting flowers 👏 & I love that encouraging your DiL to garden involves decluttering excess plants from your garden ☺️ Good luck with your early start & please make sure that you get plenty of baby cuddles 🤗 even if you have to wake the baby 😉 Fingers crossed that someone has taken up your offer of theatre tickets 🤞 Hopefully one day you will get to visit west Scotland ☺️
TC77, I think you are winning as you are still decluttering so your tidying might be a little messy but at least there is less clutter 👏 Good luck for the weekend 🍀
Florenceem, poor Steven - he looks very cold 🥶 A great bargain on the Creme eggs 👏 I do hope they are all for you 😉 apart from one each for your Bestie & her DH & maybe one for young J 😉 A busy day & a shame someone didn’t help you up the stairs as well as down ☹️ What a lovely find in your Room of Doom 🥹
All caught up so I will wish you all a good night. Sleep tight 😴

@Florenceem - your Stephen gnome looks exactly like my BIL Stephen! We kid him about being able to play Santa Claus now.

Thursday it started raining heavily before midnight & has continued raining on & off all night. I had a better night’s sleep with just 2 bathroom visits at 04:15 & 06:30 before finally getting up at 07:45. Apparently it is set to rain here all day & looking at interim places it looks set to rain everywhere all day as we head to Spean Bridge which is tonight’s stop. Breakfast which is pre-ordered is at 08:45 - juice, coffee, bacon, sausage, egg, tomato, black pudding & tatie scone + toast. Whilst DH moves the bike from the car park to the front of the hotel, I will pay for last night’s dinner & drinks.
Hope everyone has a drier day than we are forecast 🤞 See you later 👋

Morning all.
weenancyinAmerica - A friend said the dark blue gnome looked like Mr F.
MrsSD - shame about the rain .
I plan a day indoors - ironing is my first job.
I plan to move stuff out of the old office so I can get to the large storage boxes in there. I want them so I can organise the craft storage room properly.
