Started work on a froglet on Monday by emailing a local roofing company. The guttering at the back of the house, where it joins the down pipe, has developed a crack/hole so now some of the water runs down the outside of the pipe rather than the inside so that needs fixing. I’m also going to ask them to check the chimney stack and cap/cowl the pots to stop bugs coming down.
In a side mystery we have 4 pots and only 3 existing flues in the house. No need for symmetry considerations so I am wondering where that 4th flue is/was. I am wondering if it was in what is now the bathroom as my fireplace technically floats (although is also built into two walls.

Morning all.
Seeing the babouche on the stair walls was a bit of a shock after having white emulsion. This morning - I am loving it. J fitted the new lampshades on the landing and stairs. They are metal with cut outs and produce patterns on the walls resembling the sun's rays so just right with the yellow paint.
Dull start to the day here.
I was in a lot of pain yesterday evening when I was sitting doing my knitting. I took painkillers and went to bed. I managed to go off to sleep and apart from bathroom visits I was okay.
I have pain this morning so will take tablets.
I am going to the shopping centre this morning.
Decluttered - threads, tapestry wool, label, basket, plastic bag, ornament, stencil, paper, storage box, 8 sewing patterns, paper bag, envelopes, cloth bag, writing pad x 2 and 2 tins.

Very handsome house Green hopeful. We used to have a local building company who had their own drain covers made, it's nice to spot them around town as my Dad worked for them for 30 odd years. I cannot think what you could do with a broken cover other than what has been suggested as a stepping stone.
Ate a couple of frogs yesterday. Phoned the hospital as advised by letter to do so if not heard from them by yesterday. Was told there is a 14 week wait for initial consultation. Phoned a pest controller about wasps in the loft, left a message, no reply yet. How long do you wait for these things? I would like to use a local company but may have to resort to somebody from Manchester.
I have gardening to do but not much inclination. Use it or lose it as they say. Even a little bit is better than none.

I went to Portpatrick some years ago with two small boys (about 3) who are both 21 this year. I remember them playing on the beaches happily digging in torrential rain. Portpatrick was the 'Gretna Green' equivalent for Irish under age brides (Ireland was 21 to marry without parental consent the same as England). There was a good boat service and Ireland was very close.
I've done some work on the 4th of my eight booklets about my Great grandparents and their ancestors. DD stayed over last night but had to leave early this morning for important meeting. Not much done really just pottering. I bought some cheap but nice crockery for the kitchen at Mr Dun and threw away some chipped pieces. I also got a new folding washing/ironing basket but when I went to use it most of the joins were split and it was useless. Taking back today for a refund. Hair cut booked for later so will go after that.
605 Yet more weeds to recycling
606 Some plants put in place
607 Handbag turned upside down and tat binned
608 Random downloads and screenshots, mostly for family history, were correctly named and saved where they need to be
609 Sox flea/worm treatment done on my own - he fought back. New pack ordered from vet
610 Cat food left house with DD for her friend - some I bought by mistake
611 Chipped crockery binned
612 Old broken washing basket binned before I realised new one was split
Sox is not impressed with the rain and has settled down for a morning nap on a cosy fleece after patrolling his estate and getting wet. Off to have a shower now which I didn't manage earlier.

Yesterday deep cleaned shower room where the boiler is as annual inspection due today, along with the bathroom in case he needs the loo. Had to stop before nearly finished as a nosebleed started.
Inspection timeframe was 8am-noon and had a restless night worrying I'd miss the alarm to finish cleaning should he arrive at 8.
In the end got up at 6, finished the cleaning, put a washing load on, hoovered landing and stairs, did a mountain of washing up and he rang and said he would be there in half an hour.
He was done by 9.40 (and did use the loo) so I went to collect replacement prescription which chemist still don't have despite Dr's pharmacy asking them to issue it. Turns out the replacement is exactly the same as the original just a different brand name so it's all out of stock.
Went on to sm for a few bits, put washing out as rain had stopped and it was still only just after 10.
After all that excitement I'm settling down to watch Messi and have a rest.

Me too and then I find the batteries in the recycling box I dumped them in and one has invariably leaked everywhere 😬
Still feeling very overwhelmed by everything (driven by work) and starting to think I decluttered to the point everything can be kept relatively tidy, but actually we still have too much. I've looked at DD's wardrobe again and went through the size up clothes so I could file them off my floor (they are in a beautiful 1950's old suitcase on top of her wardrobe). I still think she has twice as many clothes as she really needs, but I am really waiting on her to grow out of them or obviously never wear them so I can get rid of them. She seems to like all of them, so don't want to declutter them just to make myself feel better. I just need to make sure I don't end up with too much in the future, although the reason she has too much now wasn't in my control - gifts and also a massive free bag of clothes!
A few more bits gone from there, so at least it is a little better and no clothes are on the floor!
Oh - and at the weekend my parents brought more stuff I didn't need to use up.. My only coping mechanism at the moment is to keep chipping away everyday at it all and hopefully I'll see an improvement soon.

1 - paper reused then recycled

Sat and tried to work out how I can declutter my mortgage.
Took out a 16 year mortgage when I bought my flat in 2021 so it's due to be paid in full by 2037 but I want to pay it off early.
I think the absolute earliest I'll be able to pay it off will be 2030 but I'm desperate for it to go! Sat and shuffled the numbers about but I cannot make money appear from thin air so I'm going to have to give myself a shake and make my peace with it.
I am too impatient can you tell!

24/52 - an old storage drawer emptied and the drawer itself binned. Some junk items from the drawer also binned.

One Vinted listing completed earlier today and sold about an hour later. That will be 3 little Christmas decs out of the house along with some packaging.
Ziffit and a dress taken to the lockers at the end of my road. Another sale parcelled up so that and today’s sale are off to the post office tomorrow. Not making huge money but all towards the loft fund.
Roofer are coming Monday to look at my guttering issue and the chimney. Fingers crossed for a reasonable quote.✒️ Declutter 2026 🏅 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅)
