Monday & the scorching weather continues ☺️ The forecast is for a high of 33°C (feeling 2° warmer due to a slight SE breeze) & a low of 17°C. A lazy day all round as it was too hot to move. However I did phone my bank & put a stop on the missing cheque. DH also texted a Happy Birthday to my DB who had been in Denmark with one of his boys who was at a football camp. Dinner was linguine in a creamy bacon & pea sauce. Wudupa886 - 887 Kitchen recycling & detritus dealt with

Too hot to do much yesterday. I weeded the patio before the sun came round. Just a little bit at the end that was already in the sun.
My husband’s aunt was staying at the weekend. He dropped her at the station yesterday and 20 minutes later she turned up by taxi. She had left her phone in our car. So I found her phone and took her back to the station.
Last year we decided to put the utility door back on to try to keep the heat in. Its one of those 15 pane 1970s glass doors. After probably 8 months decided yesterday that I wasn’t going to paint it but gave it a clean and put a new door handle on. Didn’t take long but it is very firm to push the handle down. I will see if our carpenter can make it better when he comes next.
Too hot in the garage of doom to do much. But offered our collection of electrical timers and adapters to our upcycler chap. I can’t see any use for them but I guess he could sell them at a car boot sale. He is coming to collect today.
Offered a roll of fabric to our local college run disability day centre. I’m dropping off some odd curtain rings. They make the best and most imaginative things. I shall take the fabric today and see if they want it. If not the retro Sue Ryder takes fabric. Here is a link to one of their bird boxes they make from scrap wood.
https://www.facebook.com/share/p/17Tt5ewBVu/?mibextid=wwXIfr
Offered two white shelves to the homeless charity. They still have the brackets on so could be useful. If not they can go on Freecycle.
Kondo a umbrella stand of random walking sticks and umbrellas. Four umbrellas kept and 10 chucked. They were not even good enough for redistribution. 5 walking sticks chucked as well. A selection of cute ones kept.
Got my husband to ’look’ at a pile of his things in the garage. Turns out he needs to keep it all including 12 beer bottles and demijohns he hasn’t used in the 11 years we’ve been together. Hey ho.11 -
Morning ,
Determined to do more the next few days as have lost some important things. Sorted some old papers and just opened landing g cupboard and decided to sort it..looks reasonably tidy for me but has stuff I don't use and surprise I put my de- bobble in there which I've been looking for.
Posting picture to see if this motivates me to do it thoroughly and not just tinker!

I got up early and tackled two frogs but have more to do. Garden visit this afternoon near my favourite antique centre so I may go there first. I need to keep my backdoor shut as I seem to be running a cat cafe - black cat and Sox having an altercation in kitchen yesterday and this morning I disturbed an all grey cat finishing Sox's breakfast. Cat flap does link to Sox's chip but I gave up trying to get it to work. There are a lot of cats round here. They don't fight much just have 'standoffs' across shed rooves mostly.
House needs a clean but I think Weds is going to be cooler and I am only out lunchtime. Once garden waste bin is emptied I can fill it up again - it is collected every week now as we can add food waste. I washed my bed covers yesterday but had to put them back in three stages as I struggle with that job in normal temperatures. Sheet first, pillows half an hour later then duvet cover whilst I was cool after my shower. I am going to wash some throws from around the house today.
Right I will get dressed and tackle a few more frogs before it gets too warm.
513 Some frogs munched up - mostly papers for next week's committee

@GrannyKate my tortie Whisky has a pal (a tuxedo called Rubble) who is a bit of a roamer and often pops in to finish her food. She tolerates him as long as I don't pick him up, and has been seen sharing her biscuits with him. Me & his cat-mum keep in touch on Fb so she knows he's OK.
I sorted my mini greenhouse yesterday, potting up the tomatoes & cucumbers. Today's plan is to do my baskets before the sun reaches the patio.

@GrannyKate much more sensible for food waste to go in garden waste bin. Ours used to, then they stopped it and it had to go in general rubbish. We have now had three more bins delivered and food waste is a separate weekly collection. How we are supposed to manage 6 bins and their emptying schedule, I don’t know!
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger I am so sorry to read that M has died. Thinking of you and your family. Lovely cottage you went to at the weekend. Please can you tell me more about your electric weeding tool as it could be useful for me as I have to wait until weeds are nice and tall for me to be able to pull them out.
@Brie that sounds really painful and most unpleasant. I hope you are making a swift recovery.
@Happy_Kitties I wish you a swift recovery too and fingers crossed that the appointments don’t wear you out too much.
Had a quiet weekend and now feeling much better. Emails now down to 340. A couple of things earmarked to go to CS - will get them out so friend can take them on Wednesday. Loads of admin frogs to deal with this week and plenty more decluttering to do. I really want to give the place a good clean but need to get rid of things to create the space to do this.

@floss - I don't know where the cats actually live but my close backs onto a street of older semis with very long back gardens. I think most of my visitors live over there. They are plainly owned as they look very healthy with shiny coats and eyes and chubby tummies. Company for Sox and friends to stlak in the garden. I got dressed and have done three more frogs but taking a break now. I've sent some chasing messages to some tradespeople and I need to check bank.

Abit more organised and few things put elsewhere. Ideally i'd like to get rid of the shelves and much of the stuff and keep hoover in here. But i can see the little drawers with screws and bits and pieces At least I can put tue small step ladder back in. Need to find motivation to keep going with other areas.

Tuesday is another scorcher with a forecast high of 33°C (feeling 3° warmer due to a S breeze) & a low of 18°C DSis has just informed me that her medical appointment has been cancelled due to the heat. She is happy as the place is awkward to get to ☹️

Excellent decluttering suzeesu2000 👏 Pleased to hear that your windowsill onions are doing so well 😊
Florenceem, I am still knitting scarves 😉
Green_hopeful, I will keep everything crossed that all the items ‘offered’ will be picked up/accepted quickly 🤞 Hopefully your husband will succumb to gentle pressure & get rid of a few things 🤞 Great decluttering of umbrellas & walking sticks 👏
TC77, Good luck with both decluttering the landing cupboard & finding the errant “important things” 🍀

oceanspirit, pleased to hear that your quiet weekend has helped you feel better 😊 Lovely cheerleading post 👏 As to the electric weeding tool, sadly it is only useful for paths & patios (my particular one is a Ryobi 18v One+ Cordless Patio Cleaner with wire brush) Good luck dealing with your admin frogs 🍀
Great work completing more frogs GrannyKate 👏
TC77, the landing cupboard looks so much tidier 👏 Great work especially impressed that all the boxes are labelled 😊
