My January numbers:

Part of my aims for 2026 were tackling the huge pile of unread newspaper supplements from 1-2 years ago. If I hadn't read them by the end of 2025 they needed to go straight into the recycling I'm pleased to say I finally knuckled down and over a week got through the last of them by early January.

Some using up of in date and slightly expired pantry items along with old make up items as I haven't worn any since lockdown.

A massive cull of emails deleted as my email provider is cutting back on my storage allowance. Also decided to keep a tally of never seen films and never read books along with keeping a record of daytrips out for this year.

Evening all. 😁

Tempus fugit at an incredible rate! I still wonder what I do that takes so much time yet produces very little evidence of change. But when I stop and really look I see the incremental improvement. I have begun to accept that I have so many plates spinning I can't spend long on any one, so actually I'm beginning to feel a lot more relaxed about them all.

I've nudged on a few more frogs although each nudge seems to result in another tadpole being thrown my way but the general direction is forward.

In the garden, and I can't believe I'm saying this as I live in S Wales, there has finally been enough rain to fill a couple of my water butts and the 2 mini ponds. A quick trip out yesterday and a native, non invasive oxygenator plant has been purchased and divided between the 2 ponds. Plants will follow as and when I see good offers - the whole garden is devouring money hand over fist at the moment. 😱 I have however picked and devoured my first strawberry of the year. 😁

I've not got any further with the catio/patio apart from sweep up some of the pressure washed dirt and dump it in a bucket, drilled with holes as I use them for tomatoes in the greenhouse. I looked out of the window yesterday to see this.

Gino is definitely crazy. 🤣🤣

Tomorrow I should be taking delivery of an outdoor litter tray then Gino won't have to resort to this to avoid coming in and have to stop shouting at the birds.

Please excuse the mess, I stack stuff for washing and then the wind gusts through.

I had another go at the brambles in the hedge and have 2 bags of chopped bramble to go out on Friday morning. It's slow and confined work in the hedge but inch by inch I'm determined to get rid of the bramble.

As for the house, well that's inching forward as well. This week I have the assessor of the assessors coming - to make sure that the company subcontracted to do the assessing did their job!!! Then next week I have the technical surveyor who will figure out if what has been proposed by the modelers can actually be fitted to the house. After that I will either be given a date when work can begin or we go back to the design stage. 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ But I guess there has to be an accountability trail for government funding. So I'm still in limbo but as I said, I'm a lot more relaxed about it this time. 😁

dND, I completely understand the cost of house renno and making a garden. Materials are so much more expensive than you anticipate.I gave the side garden/ drive a very good tidy up a couple of months ago. I have noticed the brambles are back with vigour. I am like you ,spinning plates and when I have the time to do anything in the garden, the weather is just too wet. I have done very, very little in the back garden. Just a few plants dug up and given away and a lot of rubbish taken to the tip. Mr V and DD1 dragged an inherited 60's concrete planter onto the drive for me the other day. I have bought a pink Cordyline for it. I am hoping it will look groovy at the front of the house near the steps. Or not,time will tell. My cats are enjoying the dug soil in the front. I will have to resort to sticking branches in to keep them off when the garden is planted.

Pleased you may have got to the right amount of pain meds Florenceem. Long may pain free continue.

I have given away a big bag of empty jam jars to someone who asked on FB. Jars being reused and giving a bag away too. win, win.

Sadly my favourite mug with Shetland puffins has a big chip, I have been strict, it has gone in the bin.

2. Sort out sleep patterns - initial targets: bed by 03:00, up by 10:30
3. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc.
4. Commence ‘Operation Financial Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
5. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
6. Plan & Execute ONE Major Project - 2026 New Bathroom
7. Target 2026 items out

Tuesday started with showers & sunshine. Now quite bright but cloudy with a forecast high of 17°C (feeling 5° colder due to a brisk SSW wind) & a low of 11°C

Currently sorting out my TV planner & dealing with today’s mail. DH is changing the brake pads on the motorbike - hopefully it won’t rain 🤞It didn’t rain & DH managed to change the front brakes 👏 My new TV licence arrived as did my PB win cheque. Knitting a 3rd feather & fan stitch scarf. I raided the freezer for fish pieces & king prawns to make a fish pie from scratch + also took out some cottage pie filling & made an individual cottage pie. Dinner was fish pie with roasted asparagus spears with grated Parmesan 😋 Wudupa

Managed to declutter the cool box by dropping it onto the kitchen floor - big crack and a few chunks off the corner so thats bin bound

Decluttered lots of pennies on stuff for DS's forthcoming nuptuals .Bought a case of Cremant on the advice of my laydee friend ( she lived in Burgandy for 10 years and knows all the good stuff lol). I said I wasn't toasting the happy couple with cider which was DS's plan !!😱 He doesn't know about this yet-a nice surprise on the day.

Lots of bits and bobs but I don't count as you know, - just do.

Morning all. Exactly 24 hours after I took the medication - the pain started. I took painkillers then the nightly tablets. I had a good night but overslept - didn't wake up until 9.13.

Very woozy this morning. I will take the tablets earlier tonight.

My February numbers are:

Did lots of darning and I have way more cotton thread than I will ever need so a bunch given to cs.

Dishwasher gave up so cutlery basket to cs along with shelf from mini freezer which was leaking.

Finally used up pot of leave on face mask. It left my skin lovely and soft but had the texture of blancmange which put me off using it.

Unfortunately far too many ins this month. I need to put a note in next year's diary a month before Easter to not shop any cute bunny items.

My March numbers are:

A quieter month decluttering wise.

My friend lives in a flat and the people who live in a house behind him have asked if he wants to buy it. It is a second home and they are leaving all the furnishings behind. He is very excited as they have a dishwasher and he has never owned one. I am very excited as I can offload my three bags of dishwasher salt on to him!

I also have a pack of d/w tabs I can give him as well as some novelty pens. He loves stuff 😃
