@Florenceem what a beautiful summer house!
@BlueJ94 ooh - how inspiring. I absolutely love the wall colour that AI put on there. I have boring Magnolia on all my walls as I am too stingy to repaint from a new build as it isn't needed and would stress about picking the right colour. DH only likes magnolia 🙄 Maybe one day!
Still in maintenance mode this end and have been trying very very hard not to bring anything in at all. It means that apart from an improvement in finances, it's easier to be very frugal with using things up that I have to make them last as long as possible. I like the creative side of that thinking and it appeals to my environmental leanings. That's not to say everything is perfect… my desk is covered in papers I need to sort through, I have some bits from the kids I need to rehome and my food cupboards are slightly too full of things that have been there ages and need to be used up. I also have a cardigan to repair that's been sat on the side for weeks.. But in the main everything is presentable and no need for panic tidy ups before anyone comes round. Even if I do nothing all week, it is easily reset in under 30 mins.
I have to admit I did bring in an ice cream maker this week. Going to try it out this weekend and then there'll be no stopping me 😂
I managed to squeeze the remaining meat into the small kitchen freezer and the big chest freezer is currently being defrosted! Still loads in there to use up - you forget how long it takes to use things up. I did drop one of the boxes, so that's in the bin now 😬 At least if I see a bargain I can grab it knowing I can fill up the freezer again! I shall continue trying to use up all the oldest things though.

Lovely summer house Florenceem. It will be so nice to enjoy sitting in once things warm up a bit.
Wintry is the exact right word Mrs SD! We haven’t put the heating on but if we sit still, we have to wrap ourselves in throws. I am currently wearing a poncho - in May!I managed to fill the garden waste bin ready for collection, although you can’t tell by looking at the garden. I planted out the summer bulbs and potted the more tender ones in the greenhouse. My poor French beans haven’t germinated yet so I hope they don’t give up and rot in the cold. I need to start hardening things off outside but they would just blow away at the moment or go into shock. Lots of extra watering going on in the garden and pots to try and counter the drying of the wind. Luckily we have a few waterbutts.
Due to the cold yesterday I did filing, banking and paying bills. Also, unpicked the jeans hems and re sewed to make them even.
As always, you are doing lots of inspiring restoration, renovation, organising and decluttering. Hugs to all xx7 -
Morning all.
Heating went on when I got up.
Went out wearing a hat and gloves. There was a woman on my bus in just a short sleeved tee shirt and trousers.
I took the trolley of donations to the charity shop - got more bags and gift aid labels.
So much is leaving the house but I feel overwhelmed with the amount I still have.
I wanted to take the friend who drove me back and forth to the hospital out for a meal. He has declined as said the gift vouchers that I gave him are enough. He was lovely in his message - said the world needs more P……s.
I have a glove to finish sewing up - will do that while I drink another cup of tea.
There was a huge amount of cardboard and paper out for the refuse men.
My Greenwich daughter is coming down tomorrow so will look at what I have done in the house.

@Florenceem I'm sure your daughter will be amazed at the difference, after all your decorating, new blinds & carpets, never mind all your decluttering x

I always try to look at how far I have come, not how far I have left to go.
So many people have made so much progress. There is always more to do but a little stop and look at the journey can sometimes put things back into perspective.

Willowtree222 - you are right. I take photos of the mess when I start a room so I can look back at where I have come from.
I have worked hard this afternoon - amazing what I have found up there - I just don't remember putting it all in that room. I think I put a lot of it up there when the physios were adapting the house for Mr F. I suppose as it was the messy room - more stuff went in there as I looked after him.
Finished my first pair of the smallest size - 4 - 7 years old.

Gorgeous gloves @florenceem
@Willowtree222 very good point
Saw my lovely neighbour today and invited her in for a cuppa next week so gives me a focus!
Saw dd1 and we've moved a frog along although I've offered to type up notes for her.

TC77 - I am trying to get the large ROD ready for J to paint the ceiling on Tuesday.
I will pop out to the charity shop with my trolley of donations tomorrow morning. Daughter is getting here about 3 pm so I will have some time to work at the room.
I will be out all morning on Sunday and not back until about 2,30 as I am going with bestie to the SA charity shop. I like to have an easy afternoon on a Sunday but that won't happen this week.

Shall just have to finish eating the cake without it. 😮
