2026 Fashion On The Ration Challenge

Happy New Year all,
My main aim for this year is to keep to the 66 coupons and to use up some of my fabric and wool stash.
I was inspired by another forum on this website '26 for 2026' and am aiming to complete the following:- mending 26 items
- knitting up 26 x 50g balls of wool
- sewing 26 items of clothing
- decluttering 260 items from my house/garage/shed

2026 Fashion on the Ration:
0/66 coupons spent
0/26 items mended
0/26 x 50g wool knitted
1/26 items sewn
0/260 items decluttered

@ShelivesintheShire - I have a bra (haven't checked to see if it would fit though) that my grandmother made back before World War II. It is tatted. It was in the box of stuff I inherited and she had put a note in with it that she had made it.10

Happy New Year everyone I would like to join in again this year.
Last year I only bought a few things and they were all second hand. At Christmas I received 2 lovely pairs of socks plus a cashmere buff as they were gifts they were coupon free.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

Hi , newbie here and I'd like to join and follow along. My lifestyle is going to change considerably in autum this year when I give up work (won't say retire as its likley just giving up my full time career for a mid life gap year - i will have to work again after that in some capacity). Therefore I don't want to buy any clothes this year unless I really NEED something & especially no "work" clothes. I will need some practical non work clothes come autum so want to try to last until then.
Do you have to use any coupons if you buy supplies to mend things ? I bought a zip today as im hoing yo try to replace a zip on my thick winter (mainly dog walking) coat.
Ive not sewed anything for years and never a zip! But for £4 I thought it worth a try rather than have to buy zip new coat. I don't think anyone will notice if it's not perfect & rest of the coat is fine. Dogs won't notice 🤣10 -

I can't see mention of it on the updated list but the original, if I remember rightly, said that things like haberdashery and darning wool were points free. I also have a vague memory that darning wool was soon only sold in very small quantities as people were cunning and bought it off-coupons to knit with. Once trimmings got above a certain size, they became subject to rationing. The details for that are in the first post.Jojo77_2 said:

Hi all,
@PipneyJane just a thought but iirc you have been looking for the navy suit for about 5 years and I think you should find a tailor and have one made. You know what you want and I am sure a tailor could make one and they will have a range of good woolen fabric. You deserve it 😁. It is something I remember my Mum telling me she aspired to as they were so well made they lasted for years. She did have a skirt and jacket made that she loved. I also worked with a young girl who used to design her own clothes and get them made for her by a tailoress, she always looked fabulous 😁.
Take care everyone14 -
That's a brilliant idea!kiwisavings said:

Hi @shelivesintheShire ! I'm lucky and live just far enough from Ewe&Ply that we still have money to buy food with... if I lived closer, then I suspect we'd starve every so often as I would have spent everything on wool!
