No these are definitely work trousers, meant for working on building sites. They won't go with anything in my wardrobe , so I will probably use them for gardening and decorating afterwards - the project ends May/June time. They aren't formal trousers by any means and couldn't be used as such. I don't have to worry about the top half as that is provided by English Heritage.
At least the leg length is ok - one benefit of having longer legs!

Blimey, where did March go?!
Hullo, everyone :)
My lovely reversible wrap-around fress turned out to be less practical than I'd intended- the length was cosy but meant when I was changing in wet weather, the hem draggled in the mud all the time, but worse than that, the brushed cotton is hugely absorbent- of rain!! :)
So I have a very nice cosy dressing gown, and have learnt a lot about the construction of a good wrap-around dress. I am planning another, cap-sleeved, one with fabric I already have…
I bought white plimsoles at least two years ago, if not three, to dye blue because I couldn't find nice plimsoles lighter than a near-black navy. I finally did them yesterday and I am really pleased! Dylon hand-dye in Atlantic Blue.2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

That's the most gorgeous colour @Laura_Elsewhere . Looking forward to hearing about the next dress you make (a waterproof one?)

Beautiful colour for your plimsoles @Laura_Elsewhere. The dye has taken so evenly, do you have any hints for successfully dyeing clothes?

Love that blue @Laura_Elsewhere.
How is everyone? I’ve got yet another sore throat/cold. It’s knackering and annoying, but nothing to worry about. (When I saw my consultant in February, they warned me that one of the drugs I had during chemo would make me more susceptible, presumably because it took out part of my immune system. The effect will eventually wear off.)
Before this started at the weekend, I spent a couple of hours wandering around a large shopping centre, looking at the fashions. It seems we’ve been transported back to the late 1970’s. Baggies are still “in” (baggy trousers), while shoulders are getting a bit wider.

I do like baggy trousers, but my shoulders are quite square without pads on them!
I am still havering over a summer dress I saw on V1nted. Can anyone tell me if this is going to be a really warm summer in which I will get wear out of a dress, please? I am failing to see clearly into the future, as it's still and grey today and not the sort of weather in which I can envisage wearing an outfit that doesn't involve a hoodie or jumper.

God only knows about the weather @Cherryfudge. This is Britain, where the only guarantee is that the weather will be unpredictable. How long have you fancied that dress? Do you have a cardigan or jacket that you can wear with it, if necessary?
