Please count me in @apple_muncher. #18 please 😀
NSD#1 in the bag
Today has been a me-time day. Wrapped myself up & went for a very windy & hail-filled walk on the beach. Stood in the sea (with my wellies on), so had my first paddle of the year 😂 at one point, I had the whole bay to myself 😍
Once home DH defrosted & heated up the soup I made Boxing Day. Got out my diaries for this year, wrote my mantras inside the front cover & added a new one, then added appointments, birthdays, etc.
After tea we had a power cut for an hour. Lit some candles & read my book by torchlight, followed by a bath once the power came back on.
Grateful for my trip to the beach (aiming to go 50 times before my next birthday, some years I don't even go once, so making an effort this year), sorting out my diaries, time to readUse it up, wear it out

Happy New Year everyone. Been a strange year already. Roommate G was taken to the hospital a couple of days ago. He is an alcoholic and is not doing well. Trying to get him into rehab. He was slurring his speech when I talked to him on the phone. My other two roommates who are currently here went to see him this evening and said I was right about the way he sounded. They talked to the nurses at the hospital.
Have had several major breakthroughs in my family history work the last few days. Had another one today. Started by adding 7 generations to one family yesterday in Baden, Germany. Added to it today. I am still surprised every time this happens. That was how I spent this morning. I did watch some of the Rose Parade - fortunately my roommate Di recorded it (she never gets up early for it). It was raining, but it didn't stop the parade. I usually have quiet mornings - except for the cats. Two of them have been bouncing around, chasing each other, and getting into mischief. We also feed two cats now on the back porch. One of them looks almost exactly like our middle cat and the other is probably the mother of both of them. Neighbors claimed she left him on the back porch. The mother cat and new kitten are theirs. But we are helping with some food for them.
Hope you all stay dry and warm.9 -
Happy new year everyone. Can I join for January please? I have started on my bucket list which I am going to expand to a vision board. I’ll aim for 14 nsds, I started on the right foot yesterday with a nsd so I’m already at #1.Mortgage free wannabee 2022 #825

NSD 1 today.4 -
Evening all
Chilly day at work today
Found it hard being on my feet all day after the long Christmas / NY break, but it was nice to be back and see different people.Put in a load of washing before work, which PH pegged out on the line. Mostly dry, so will finish off on the airer
Got back and OH had moved a load of firewood, so is obviously feeling much better
NSD # 2 for me
Chilli, jacket potato and coleslaw for dinner (we ate early, as I don't stop for lunch at work)Grateful for OH seeming better, seeing people at work and a nice dinner when I got home

My morning win was getting out to the gym and walking in the snow (you all know that I lurve the white stuff!!!). It was so peaceful and there wasn't much traffic.Today I am grateful for the snow (but trams and buses too!), for a good gym session, for getting some needed laundry done, for Instinct recordings, for deliberately slowing down doing some drawing and pausing often.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5

I have one NSD in the bag.
Made a shepherds pie for supper tonight and baked 10 potatoes and 2 sweet potatoes while the oven was on anyway, for a quick supper tomorrow because my kitchen has no heating, the floor is freezing and I already have chilblains ( they flippin hurt!!). So I'm trying to cook once + be able to eat at least twice, before my toes fall off. 🥶 ☃️ 🧊 . Roll on building works!
It was all very pretty this morning, it snowed, then we had a massive hailstorm which then froze to the pavement. It looked like bubblewrap. Very slippery bubblewrap.

Hello from a snowy Thrifty Towers. We've got an ber warning for snow until Monday dinnertime, I'm kind of hoping the schools don't reopen because of it...
Just had a slight covering this morning. Pottered around at home. Went for a walk with DH after dinner, as DS3 thought the roads were too bad where he is, to collect him. Phoned FIL, then did some jigsaw for an hour. After tea, I took the pompom off a hat & sewed it onto another hat, then some decorative pompoms that fell off a pair of bedsocks @2 years ago were finally seen back on! Did some knitting & started watching a new series.
Grateful for being cosy by the fire, not being stuck in the snow like some cars are tonight & tackling a frog this morning

Chilblains are really unpleasant 😢
When we lived in a static caravan my feet were freezing permanently. Is it possible to put a thick rug down in the kitchen. Also thick socks and the thick bootie slippers might help.
When I was young we prepped the food in the room with the heat and then spent minimum time in the cold part of the house. No central heating at the time, just a coal fire for the whole house ( it was 50 odd years ago but the principals are the same )
Keep warm ❤️

I just need a new damp proof course, underfloor heating, a radiator and a decent kitchen. Luckily I can afford it this year, I just have to find a builder who doesn't set off my 'axe-murderer alarm' which apparently is my 'unconscious bias'. If it looks like a duck......
