In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. 1. do nothing. Rise above it, Give someone enough rope….
2. Play passive aggressive. Respond to everyone that you are not commenting other than to say you hope people are getting the help they need. You could step it up, by saying this time of year can be difficult for some and list some crisis charities etc
3. go nuclear and threaten legal action. Tell everyone you are aware that you have been slandered/ libelled and are taking legal advice. Find a cease and desist template online and send it to her.I’d avoid responding directly to her accusations, as this will just encourage a response.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Go with three, send her a cease and desist, with an addition that she must retract any and all defamatory comments in writing to all parties involved.silvercar said:Options:

Or any advice on where else I should be asking.... these are different queries as the situation has evolved since that. I'm trying to be more specific today.0

Thank you. I like all 3, although being silent feels like im hiding or scared to stand up for myself....silvercar said:Options:

2 - I like it. Don't take the bait and just be quite sympathtic. I would mean I have to newsletter everyone around here which might me seem a bit mad too though.
3- she is a sole trader / partnership. I feel it would be satisfying but essentially be empty as I am not sure anything I can do about her sending all sorts of random stuff about me in emails if she wants...0 -
True, but it gives some background to the post.solidpro said:Or any advice on where else I should be asking.... these are different queries as the situation has evolved since that. I'm trying to be more specific today.Life in the slow lane2 -
Why? very little the OP can do about if if she doesn’t. Realistically, who is going to take legal action over a few letters - don’t make threats that you won’t follow up on.MattMattMattUK said:

Unless the OP is not a reasonable sort and subsequently does something to inflame things further. For reference I would not consider any messages in this context private and would always carefully consider what I wrote and who might see it before sending. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

How about a complaint to the ICO? I'd have thought that using the email addresses obtained while she was in an official position for personal purposes after she'd resigned would be a breach of GDPR.Those email addresses and the lack of access to them might also make it difficult for the OP to do either of @silvercar's options 2 and 3 electronically, they might have to consider posting a letter through every letterbox.0

I've sent a special recorded 'cease and desist' letter to the woman who used to be a managing agent. Polite but outlining why I'm sending it, that she immediately stops and apologises to me.
I lodged a formal GDPR complaint to the company on the 17th, which they have ignored.
As they have not responded, I'll submit a formal complaint to the ICO using a template I've been given. Sharing my emails with 3rd parties when legal secretary would be #1, emailing me and cc'ing neighbours saying a bunch of nonsense is #2 and then BCC'ing the company's mailing list addressing 'all shareholders' a week after formal/immediate resignation, particularly when a contractor should resign to the board, not all residents is #3....0 -
