So which specific articles envisage market 'implosion' (and why), and explain the relevance of alleged 'price fixing scams' to moves towards digital ID and money, etc?plumb1_2 said:

Only what I’ve read online, not from get rich by your silver scams that are offering to sell.eskbanker said:
That all seems highly speculative with some leaps of logic - do you have any credible sources to support those assertions?plumb1_2 said:Just been reading about investing in silver , surprised that there’s a 300 million oz shortage of physical silver.
Al these paper notes issued are not worth anything, as there’s nowt in the vaults.
The bullion banks and the boe, are pushing for digital I’d, and digital money. To cover up this price fixing scam.
i was more concerned about the price fixing and the world shortage,
just doing research on my retirement plans, what to sell first for income, bullion,ss isa or dc pot
with the price of metal high0 -

Would, by any chance, the source of this article be a website that is offering a way to invest in silver?plumb1_2 said:Just been reading about investing in silver , surprised that there’s a 300 million oz shortage of physical silver.
Be quite odd if they were describing this investment "opportunity" as anything other than "very shiny".
And no intentions of buying, rather the opposite actually, part of my pension plan

I suspect there are better sources of information available if you look hard enough.

Demand is high and supply is low. This is how scarce assets work. There is no conspiracy.Contango and backwardation need to be considered when looking at futures markets vs spot.OP definitely been drinking too much coolade. Price has gone up as demand peaks on the back of gold price premium. It's happened before. No "shortage" other than it's mined at a fixed rate so short term demand has increased the price.Definitely seems to have been based on a bullion selling site by stating "nowt in the vaults" in some sort of promotion to buy physical bullion. There’s been a world shortage for the last 7 yrs. and will get worse with green rush.
And definitely not a bullion selling sites, Maybe implode was the wrong terminology to use.
I am more interested in selling, and NO way advocating anyone buying.
I bought a large amount in 2010, and just sat on it, now. It’s time to include it y retirement plans.
But was a bit concerned about the price fixing and maybe why the government want us to go all digital, Maybe iam not educated enough? But of a lot of common sense I’d like to think.A thankyou is payment enough .0 -
If your silver exposure has swollen up to be a much larger proportion of your wealth, then it would be sensible to redress the balance by selling down to a sensible allocation, which you could do gradually if you believe there is more upside.plumb1_2 said:

Love my bean to cup machine, as a pensioner I’ve earned my treat. Plus too tight to buy from retail stores 😊A thankyou is payment enough .0 -
Can a moderator close this thread down, as I don’t want anyone to think I am ramping up silver etc.
i was more concerned about price fixing etc. which it appears I am wrong.A thankyou is payment enough .1 -
Can this thread please be left open until OP replies if they want to, why would a shortage of silver availability mean a push for digital ID cards?
Genuinely curious and not being snarkyhttps://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase/p1

Well I'm sold, bought a rare silver sovereign for a Christmas present. According to the Royal Mint, it's only the second time they have ever produced them. Onto a winner here.0
