Wow. That’s a lot of tax. Is it a mistake?

I've no idea on the tax. Basically his basic has gone up and he was given a biggish bonus. But we aren't left with an awful lot now ☹️. I think they've taxed him at higher rate on it.

Well we've spent a lot of my wages, food shopping and stuff we need for the patio to be finished (we extended it as we had enough slabs so needed sand, and DP bought a cement mixer as we've three large-ish jobs to do with it and it was £20 more to buy than rent 🤔). I bought a nice petticoat to go under my dress 😃 just to elevate it a little from day dress to wedding day dress. And I may well have spent a fortune in a garden centre on plants, gazebo and a couple of other things. I've bought party things. We've decided to put no money into savings or OPs this month ahead so we can pay off the cc as possible.
I made a playlist this morning for three hours with all our favourites on (basically there is nothing newer than 1990s on there 😂) lots of 60/80/80 on there which most people should know (we tried to stick to what people would know rather than some of our personal faves, although they're spattered here and there too).
I potted up over 40 plants yesterday and darling little blackbirds and Mr Squirrel have had a right go at them when we weren't looking. So today I've spent hours netting them up until established a little bit. Little beggars. DP is cutting grass - mostly moss 🤔😬 and I'm going to water it later as it's super dry. I've still got four plants to pot up. Need some smaller pots.
We moved two bookcases upstairs earlier out the carport. We need to do a dump run or get a skip.....
Garden is looking much improved from a few weeks ago though so I'm happy. I'm hoping the patio will be finished soon....that's worrying me a little as it's taking so long to do 🙈 I'm sure it will be ok. At the moment ds1 is hiring a van for two weekends time to bring furniture for the patio so hopefully be done then.
DS2 is still coming as far as I know which is good news. And a few people from work responded to my very last minute dot com invite (kind of done purposely as I'm not brave enough to say only you and you are coming and you're not invited...) I knew the ones I wanted to come had saved the date 🙈😂...
Right I'm doing a bit of painting of raised beds then I'm reading a book ...

All sounds fab @debtfreewannabe321! Description of petticoat please? Love Humdinger xx

@Humdinger1 it's like this but in white
I just hope we got the measurements right as it's being made to measure. I tried ready made ones and they were too short.

I was thinking it might be a gorgeous net one - very nice
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

I had a lovely chilled day at work planned today, and all was going well until I got a message saying the meeting starts in 45 minutes will you be long 😆 and there the chilled day ended. I'd forgotten about a meeting- well technically I didn't but I thought it was tomorrow! I whizzed back (well as fast as city traffic would allow mid morning which wasn't very fast). That lasted until lunchtime and I only had twenty minutes at lunch to eat so that I could take the extra forty minutes later on for my hospital appointment. Anyway I made it through the day a little frazzled and quite tired but I'm home and got everything done. I'm wearing an ECG and can't shower - ugh I didn't know! So need to wash before PJ's and try not to disturb it.
As I was watering my garden this afternoon, I got a reminder on my phone - blood tests 20 mins - 😐 so again, rushed off to do that.
Whaaaat is wrong with my memory lately. I feel utterly frazzled and confused for the most part 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️. And I keep forgetting everything!
Anyway, blood tests done and I had already finished watering plants and hiding new plants in the greenhouse for the night before Ieft for drs- the blackbirds and squirrels watch me and wait until I've gone in for the night then swoop in to dig up and throw around newly planted things. The ones that I left out are all safely netted! When they've established ill start leaving them out as some pots are quite heavy 🙈. We have a family of blackbirds and mummy blackbird is very skilled at ripping up newly planted things to find worms 🙂 she has kindly taught her babies to do the same 🤦🏻♀️😆.
I had leftovers for dinner and DD told me she wasn't hungry as she had a KFC with her bf earlier. I made her veg sticks and hummus anyway to try and get some good bits in her which she scoffed so she must have been slightly hungry!
DP is away until this evening still, long drive ahead of him and he's not even left yet. I need an early night really so might go up soon and read.
I spoke to colleague at work earlier (the lovely lady next to me who likes to rant and overload me with stuff) and she's been feeling super overwhelmed at work too and is cutting down her hours same as I am. She'll be going to a half contract or possibly 3 days. So there will be lots of changes from September. I feel a bit bad about avoiding her now so much but I was feeling overwhelmed every time I went into the office...seems like we were both feeling the same way. I got a message half way through the day from a lady who does the same job role as my last job there and she is handing her notice in. I trained her up last year and she's not even been there six months. The turnover rate for that role is insane and I thought to myself I'm glad I left that role, even if this one is stressful 🙈.
