#36 reporting early but adding £250 for late may when payday arrives. Decided to move my money yet again to YBS as they don’t allow withdrawals for 14 days, I kept on having the urge to dip into my savings whilst with nationwide and NatWest. I found that having a separate savings account at a different bank has really helped me. 🙂 hopefully will reach my £1k goal soon and then reassess the amount I’d like to save.

#15 Caeraugirl £1500 for May please. £1000 was going into a Vanguard pension account until this month, with the other £500 in regular savings, but due to the uncertain economic climate and hopes of retiring in next year, I've halved the pension payments and put the other half into my cash ISA.
I'm lucky enough to have a small NHS pension (took partial retirement at 56), but will still need the extra cash the Vanguard pension will give me until I hit SPA (another 9+ years).

Have you ever thought of using an account that has to be managed in branch/post? At least then it's more effort to make withdrawals as you have to faff about with writing letters, sending off passbooks etc. Mansfield BS currently have a regular saver at 6% that's branch/post withdrawals only (for details see The Top Regular Savers Discussion Thread). Alternatively an account that doesn't allow partial withdrawals and instead needs to be manually closed if you want the funds early.
