Holiday when on UC

You could discontinue your claim, then you wouldn't have to tell them anything.SPC # 115

So why not just answer what is after all a simple question this time?3 -
You need to inform them anything that will affect your benefit entitlement. With UC can't be longer than a month. If a holiday has no impact on entitlement and doesn't go against your claimant committent then you don't have to inform them.
The trouble when you inform the DWP needlessly is your end up getting some staff asking questions that just think up without any real meaning.
Let's Be Careful Out There1 -
If someone at DWP is just trying to bully you over a week long holiday it’s fair to feel a bit aggrieved.Newcad said:lemonblondie21 said:I don't have anything to hide at all,....... have always done everything they have asked ....

Or just put down any random country.0

We don't know the whole story here. For all we know the OP is out of the UK more that 6 times a year. And they are always out of the country for at least 3 weeks.
I came across a case where a male was regularly outside of the UK and it was revealed that he was visiting his wife and children in Morocco where they lived. And the wife and children were on the UC claim, not having informed UC they had moved abroad.
Universal Credit/Job Centre can ask questions they believe are relevant. Of course the claimant may refuse to state which country on one occasion, but if there are regular trips outside the UK, this might lead to fraud investigations.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.7 -
Or maybe they are just asking as they are looking for somewhere to go or simply want to wish them have a great time in Spain..itsthelittlethings said:

They updated the portal in 2024. to require destination countries.
So refusing to provide the destination, you may be seen as failing to "fully report a change in circumstances," which can lead to a suspension of payments while they "verify" your claim.
The change was because of countries that have sanction in place.

I feel like this could be the answer but are they going to stop your UC if you go to a country with sanctions in place?TimeLord1 said:They updated the portal in 2024. to require destination countries. So refusing to provide the destination, you may be seen as failing to "fully report a change in circumstances," which can lead to a suspension of payments while they "verify" your claim.
