I've always been really pleased with my breakdown assistance from The AA. I called them out a few weeks ago and the patrolman was absolutely lovely, couldn't have been more helpful!

The AA were good when i broke down but every year at renewal they kept hiking the renewal from £70 joining price to about £130. I kept calling them, arguing that, as a new member, the price is about £70 but you want to charge me nearly twice as much for the same cover. I couldn't be arsed to keep re-applying so gave up on them.....

You can actually haggle with them over your renewal price now. Clearly they are under pressure to maintain member numbers.

I got three reminders in the post the second with a 10 pound discount.

2 days before it was due to expire they rang me and I got them down from £48 to £34 for the same service. I felt really chuffed with myself....... especially when I needed them within days of the phone call.:j

However, I then opened the 3rd letter..... and offer to renew for £28 ... DOH ! :o :rotfl:

I shouldn't really have to though. If they can do it for new members etc????

sorry about the use of high case,I am a present AA patrol, and just want to draw attention to the way we are treated by the bosses of the AA,we do the job the best we can but get more hassle than it is worth,I am hoping that a member of the press picks up on this and looks into how private equity has damaged the moral of one of the greatest firms to work for....

I think you will find this applies to many companies these days, not just the AA.
