I sympathise with the situation, but hardly think that spouting off anonymously on an internet forum is the best way to draw attention to your plight. Nor will any member of the press be able to take your comments seriously - they appear as completely unfounded accusations.

What have you done to make your bosses aware of the situation? And have you spoken to your union?
  • Yep wrong forum and wrong approach i'm afraid... but at least you came back to admit to who you were!! :D

ps. why don't you apply for a job with the RAC and see if they are any better?!

Please be careful pat80uk, in posting this you are potentially stirring up trouble for yourself and your colleagues.

I would look at resolving your concerns through more official channels, such as a grievance procedure.

sorry about the use of high case,I am a present AA patrol, and just want to draw attention to the way we are treated by the bosses of the AA,we do the job the best we can but get more hassle than it is worth,I am hoping that a member of the press picks up on this and looks into how private equity has damaged the moral of one of the greatest firms to work for....

Problem is many company's these days are the same as has been highlighted in many similar posts over the time. Profit comes first - we all know that...

Best way is to work within the procedures already laid down - union, any other official body. Or if you have specific allegations, take them to the proper authorities.

  • If you are that bothered about it Pat why don't you become a whistle-blower?

Every company has it's good and bad points, coming on here ranting about The AA isn't going to solve your situation.

I've just checked Wikipedia and apparently the OFFICIAL fourth emergency service is Dan Petrescu, formerly of Chelsea:confused: .

Too subtle for too many here i think - either that of no one found it funny in the slightest!!!

  • hi would just like to say i used to be an AA patrol also and yes before it went private it was a much better company to works for as a patrol for a lot of reasons how ever the new companies have changed a lot of things which makes it better for the members but not for the patrols how ever it is still a good comany to work for and i im thinking about going back to work for them
as the patrols are very well compensated for the naff hours and other crap they have to put up with and the close to abuse they have to deal with from area managers how are just as beaten from there bosses and so on this is just the way with a company run to make a profit rather than one that is owned by the people it is supporting
just my 2 penith worth but hope it sheds a more balanced light on the AA
would also like to make it known that even when i left the AA i still made sure that me and all my family had AA cover is i believe there still the best cover to have however it is cheeper with some bank acounts ;)
