Someone put bagged dog waste in my bin

If it's immediately prior to emptying then it makes no difference. If the bin's empty and they chuck it in, that's different. Even if the bag doesn't burst when you chuck in more rubbish, in summer it will stink by the end of two weeks.1

After looking at many council websites, it seems they all agree on one thing. Putting something in your neighbours bin is technically fly tipping which is criminal offence. It doesn’t matter what they put in the bin

It's not. Fly tipping is defined as 'the illegal/unlawful deposit of any waste onto land or water with no licence to accept waste'.Murphybear said:After looking at many council websites, it seems they all agree on one thing. A bin is not land.
A bin is, by design and purpose of issue, a licenced receptacle for the disposal of waste4 -
I suspect land is not that narrowly defined in the legislationunforeseen said:

By that logic dumping stuff in the bootbox outside my front door or empty plant pots in the front garden would not be an offence0 -
However local authorities are really not keen on people putting their own waste into Public bins. Which for a small amount seems like exactly the same thing.unforeseen said:

At least they put the bag in a bin; round here they tie them to trees!1

Its not, i made a previous post stating i had the street cleansing team out after a HMO dumping waste in my and neighbours bins. They said it was not an offence and all they could only advise them not to. But they did take action on the dumping in the street and alley way.Murphybear said:After looking at many council websites, it seems they all agree on one thing. I was abused by a woman who saw me out walking with my 2 dogs and witnessed me putting a poo bag in a bin that was out for collection. I just said to her that she really should be sure of her facts before shouting abuse...........I then proceeded to go into the house. It was my bin and I had held on to the poo bag until I got to my own bin. I didn't bother asking for an apology5

i put my bins out 1 hour before collection because foxes rip to shreds any bins put out overnight rubbish strewn everywhere and yet my neighbours still do it week in week outas to doggie bags councils , or my council of castle point anyway are very lax is clearing specific doggy bins / about 50% of the time they are overflowing full to the brim.i never new until a few months ago that it is illegal to throw your personal rubbish in a council bin0
