If you look at the first statement UK parking control LTD it says where the address should be that we had missed 2 opportunities to pay a lesser amount assuming it was the £60 charge if paid in 14 days or whatever it is. However the parking charge is dated 13/6/25 and that letter is dated 23/7/25 so in 5 weeks that means they had written 3 letters including the one above. 2 of those offered at £60 before the £170 payment it's a shame they live in a dream the only letter we ever got was the one above dated the 23/7/25.

Is this how they are going to play it in court suddenly produce 2 fictional letters they say they sent out with fake dates on them?

Probably wont get to court , and Exhibits have to be filed with the court a few weeks before any pencilled in hearing date

Meanwhile,  has that AOS been completed yet. ?  ( concentrate on the now,  not the past or the future. )

With an issue date of 09/12/25 and providing you complete(d) the AoS after 14/12/25 and before or on 28/12/25 your defence deadline date is 4.00 p.m. on 12/01/26

Hi just to let you know I have filed the defence to MCOL on the 9/1/26 so I guess at this point it's waiting for the court letter to come now? If this goes by a recent debt I had and went to court I assume there will be a chance of mediation first before court? unless they don't acknowledge the defence it will be struck out

You guess wrong, no court is involved yet and wont be for a couple of months or more

Study the 8 steps in the defence template thread in announcements near the top of the,  because you only just started on them, but must complete them all, including mediation

Study the 2nd post in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum too, because it tells you about the process including the hearing fee and WS stages later down the line

No need to guess,  just research,  read, Study, get up to speed

Read other recent cases ahead of yours,  to understand the process

Chances are that it wont get to a court hearing, which I mentioned a month ago. ( DCB LEGAL will chicken out in several months time, near the hearing fee stage. )

Mediation is compulsory but it isn't an opportunity. With parking cases it's a waste of time.

Hi guys just to update you on this. The court letter has come through the N180 form to be filled in by the 16th March (you can do it online now which seems better) they wanted to do the court nearest to them which is about 2 hours away from us but I am going to ask the court for a local one due to my wife the once being a full time care person for a child and needs to be local for her.

The only communication we've had so far from the company was about a month ago they wanted to do a deal and to contact them with 7 days notice. We ignored that.

What are the next steps to do now other than the initial defence statement we put on through the MCOL?

I have an idea myself but don't want to stray too far from the advice on here either

Just 2 things to note it's asking if the hearing can be heard with the judge looking through the notes and we don't need to attend (yes or no) and is there any witnesses I was in the car with my wife who was the driver is it worth putting myself down as a witness?

There is a gym in the grounds of the car park so there was lots of cars in at the time as well so this added to our confusion between the sign saying free parking and lots of cars already in the car park. Can this be added to the defence or stick to facts only?

Download the N180 DQ document and complete it, then email it to the DQ email address

    Choose your local civil court

Study the 8 steps in the defence template thread in announcements near the top of the forum

Then study post 2 in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum

Put a small number of witnesses, its only to see if a small or large room is required

Save the stories for the WS in several months time

Do I need to send the defence seperate to the N180 form it doesn't mention in the form that a further defence statement needs to be sent to both parties other than a copy of the N180 form or will they ask for a defence statement later on?

It's been a while since I have done this.I did this for a debt a few years ago I did the MCOL and filed a bigger defence statement later in a folder which was sent to both parties

Your defence has already been submitted to the CNBC, and logged, you dont get a go around , its done !

The WS ( not defence. ) will be submitted in several months time to your local civil court and to the lawyers involved
