I had a Samsung GT E flip-phone back in the day! Mine was the 1150, and was pink
And I've got a Moto G53 now. Quite similar to yours.Have you started using the Motorola? Did you have a Google account to connect it to, or did you create one as part of setting up the phone?I'm going to assume you use a computer as well as a phone? If you go to https://contacts.google.com/ you can log into the same Google account and see all you saved contacts on your screen, plus edit them or create new ones. I find this easier than trying to do it all on my phone screen.Changes you make on you computer will automatially appear on your phone, and vice-versa.

Not received the phone yet. I do have a Google account.
To be honest I would have gone for another very basic cheapie as I'm housebound and have a laptop and landline (mobile signal a bit on and off) which with a basic mobile do the job, but I wanted the camera. My cameras are all older my phone.
I wish today's stuff had been available 25 years ago when I was mobile and energetic.0 -
When the phone arrives, as part of the set-up process you'll be asked to connect it to a Google account. If you connect to your existing account, all the contacts (and emails, etc) will be available via the apps on your phone.GaleSF63 said:Not received the phone yet. I do have a Google account.
When I think back on my youth I'm quite glad that lots of it couldn't be photographed and instantly shared with the world 😀GaleSF63 said:I wish today's stuff had been available 25 years ago when I was mobile and energetic.

I have the new phone, I have the new SIM card, now I want to transfer my old number over. (Old SIM card won't fit in new phone). I can find info on just about every variation of moving numbers from one provider to another etc. but not how to get from O2 to O2! Can someone help? Surely it's straight forward.0

How did you order the new SIM? If it was a replacement for the existing one, it should have the same number on it. If not, it is of next to no use to you. I assume your existing one can't be cut down to the required size. If it's more than a few years old, it probably can't. Any new SIM comes as multi-size.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. My old SIM doesn't fit. I have a new SIM card.FrugaiMacDugal said:Go to settings in old phone and make sure all contacts (delete any obsolete ones) are saved to SIM, transfer SIM to new phone, that lets you keep your phone number.Might need to request a new SIM from provider (SIM Swap) depending on slot size on new phone.0 -

Or is it a SIM provided with a new contract? This is important so we can understand your situation.
Number porting from one account to another while staying with the same provider can be tricky. Providers don't usually offer it as an option.GaleSF63 said:I can find info on just about every variation of moving numbers from one provider to another etc. but not how to get from O2 to O2! If your new SIM is for an entirely new O2 account, rather than a replacement SIM on your current O2 account, you might need to transfer the number out to a different provider and then port it back to O2.N.
