Standard rate for both elements. Happy with that. All i wanted was what i deserved. Just unhappy with the doctor repeatitly telling me it is just wear and tear for the last 10 years. I had to fight to get the MRI to prove it was more than wear and tear.

great news and great for people in a similar situation that think its not worth trying.
Hopefully any back pay will brighten up your Christmas.

Somewhere in that report you will see the PIP descriptors/activities, which are in boxes. In those you will see a, b, c, d etc etc. next to one of those there will either be a tick or a cross in the box. Underneath that there will be their justification for the reason for choosing that descriptor. You can use the PIP self test here to add up any potential points recommended. Just copy the dots /ticks from the report into this link. https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/pip-test-form
at the end of that test it will tell you what the recommended score is. Mostly they go with the report, it’s rare for them to go against it.

You need at least 8 points for standard award or at least 12 points for enhanced.
Thanks. So i did that but abd i have scored enough points in the telephone interview but the thing is the health pro didnt answer my answers consistant with the application form...
Not sure if i need to let the app run its course then appeal.  One question she answered that i use an aid or appliance to use toilet. In app form i stated my wife has to help me.  The other she put i need assistance to use shower in the same question i put my wife needs to wash lower part. The other was dressing or undressing she put uses an aid or appliance to dress. I never knew there was such a thing. I put wife dresses me.  Still scores me enough but all inconsistent. I didnt tell her any of that
All depends on where you have upper or lower limb restrictions, how bad back issues are, medication etc, needing assistance off the toilet would most likely be aids, assistance to get in the shower/bath & lower body washing are the same descriptor.

Not knowing aids exist isn't considered, as long as you have the points you have the award.

You don't need to, let me give you an example,

If you have poor grip and need chunky pan handles to cook, but then say your wife feeds you.  Depending on the conditions you have, the assessor can reasonable decide that it is more likely that you could feed yourself with an aid rather than the wife doing it.

So with yourself, would you be able to put your socks on, sat down with a sock pull?

All your answers point to lower limb difficulties caused by your back pain, eg you can bend to do certain activities.  If the is no physical upper limb issue, then on probability and knowing the condition it’s likely they have assessed the use of aids rather than your wife doing things.
