I recieved a 25 page capita report for my pip claim and cant really make head nore tail of it. Is there anyone and anyway i can share the report with to give me more clarity on it? I have not worked since april due to cronic back pain and its worrying times for me financially. Plus i lost my mother on the 27th of november.
Thanks.

Is it the form to fill in? If you’re struggling with it can you get to the Citizens Advice Bureau?fitzykev said:I recieved a 25 page capita report for my pip claim and cant really make head nore tail of it. Ah presumably it didn’t go your way and you’ve requested the report? Otherwise i thought you just get a two page letter with a decision on it?fitzykev said:

If it’s the letter it should say somewhere if you have or have not been awarded PIP and what components and rates.0

Somewhere in that report you will see the PIP descriptors/activities, which are in boxes. In those you will see a, b, c, d etc etc. next to one of those there will either be a tick or a cross in the box. Underneath that there will be their justification for the reason for choosing that descriptor. You can use the PIP self test here to add up any potential points recommended. Just copy the dots /ticks from the report into this link. https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/pip-test-form
at the end of that test it will tell you what the recommended score is. Mostly they go with the report, it’s rare for them to go against it.You need at least 8 points for standard award or at least 12 points for enhanced.1 -
Because of the number of pages it might be tricky to convey to here... hmmm... what parts are not understood... perhaps quote those? You could upload pictures if necessary but be careful not to expose any identifying information like name or Nino.
If the issue is not understanding the points suggested (for the Decision Maker at DWP who most likely will accept) refer above advice or refer to pages like this detailing them https://assets.ctfassets.net/vms0u05139aw/pip_descriptors.pdf/93820be60dcc6420191292ed56e2c95f/pip_descriptors.pdf"Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack0 -

Not sure if i need to let the app run its course then appeal. One question she answered that i use an aid or appliance to use toilet. In app form i stated my wife has to help me. The other she put i need assistance to use shower in the same question i put my wife needs to wash lower part. The other was dressing or undressing she put uses an aid or appliance to dress. I never knew there was such a thing. I put wife dresses me. Still scores me enough but all inconsistent. I didnt tell her any of that0 -
If.. if you're happy overall with the recommended points and assuming this translates into the decision I would be inclined to chalk up these anomalies... these reports are notorious for inaccuracies including sometimes even getting the attendees wrong which requires no opinion medical or otherwise. In the future you are likely to be reviewed (in fact the report prognosis might give you an idea of when) and at the review you can again re-assert the facts of your case... and over time what many find, including myself, is that descriptors get closer to the reality and truth... and today I'd argue all mine are correct. However if you lack points you think you should have been awarded and that would materially change the actual PIP award then reconsideration and then appeal are options.fitzykev said:

As advised... For components Daily Living and Mobility... 8-11 points is standard award of the relevant component and 12 or more an enhanced award of relevant component."Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack0 -
