Aldi down to 5p from tomorrow.1 -
First supermarket to actually give it away wins the race !

Who will be first to pay us to take the veg away? Dread to think how much will be wasted because people will shop with no inkling of what they are going to do with this bountiful feast. I made loads of veggie soup today. Maybe farmers will be queuing up at soup kitchens? I just hope it is the supermarket fat cats who are taking the hit and not the growers.2

I want to say well done to Lidl for the quality of their 8p veg. I did get parsnips, carrots and sprouts at 5p from Morrisons, then went across the road to Lidl for swedes, potatoes and shallots
In past years the 8p swedes have been small - not this year - and the spuds tiny and didn't keep well. Swedes and spuds are now in a paper sack in the garage and should do me for a few weeks.1 -
ASDA yet to put out their stall, haven't even released their fresh turkey prices. Was hoping to use some of the Asda reward money on a turkey and a few bits, think I'll plan to buy elsewhere.1

I see Asda are doing their veg (spuds carrots, parsnips, sprouts and broccoli) 30p each or any 5 for £1.
I bought my veg yesterday from Sainsburys - delighted to see the spuds growers are Albert Bartlett - Decibel variety. Not had these before but always pleased with quality of AB spuds1 -
Lidl veg now 5p.0

Its the supermarket that takes the hit on the reduced prices and hope you do some other shopping while in store. We waste very little as her indoors is very adept at storing the veg.pseudodox said:Who will be first to pay us to take the veg away?
