Why would anyone accept placing a order which included offer prices then pay a different price when order is fulfilled.

In that case I have same arrangement, at Asda price on delivery is the offer price when ordered, unless there is a Lower offer price, in which case lower price is charged. Now I call that fair

Morrison's is price on the delivery day regardless of order day price

Because it’s always been that way. 

They scan your shopping on the day of delivery the same as you would by going into store. 

Tesco is a guide price, Sainsburys the same, Morrisons the same, Asda ‘may’ of changed now 

Not all supermarkets do it though

Asda are good in as much as they always say price change if you pick a slot after the offer changes so you get a choice to accept or remove from basket, I assume it’s still the same although I haven’t ordered from them in a while 

So if you ordered 6 bottles if wine to save 25% for delivery on 19th December - you would lose out as it clearly states delivery up to the 18th https://www.asda.com/groceries/event/wine-offers

Because it’s always been that way. 

They scan your shopping on the day of delivery the same as you would by going into store. 

Must have different system where you shop, in our store the pickers making up the orders have no notion of what the customer is paying, they do not know if a customer is getting a offer price, a loyalty card price or a multi buy price or indeed the full price, they just pick the items and put them in the packer.

I have spoke to staff when picking up click and collect and they have said to me that the way they recognise item's are on offer is that there is a uptake on them and when they become 'unavailable' due to demand the staff then offer substitute's.

Your example of the 25% off six bottles having delivery date stipulation is not a very good one when such offers are not available nationwide, indeed are illegal where I live.
