Unless you really need it, uninstall or disable the Facebook app if the turning off photos/videos doesn't help. Log in to Facebook via your web browser instead of using the app.0

I'm currently away from home and am using mobile data rather than wifi. I am getting the same warning that Facebook is using an excessive amount of data.
It would seem to be that your phone is losing its wifi connection for some reason and using up your mobile data allowance. Keep an eye on your data connection icons at the top of your screen to ensure that your WiFi is connected while at home.1 -
I continue to get the same warning around every 30 mins. I am switching FB off when I am not using it. Can use it on my laptop to check. It is scary when I get these messages but I do appreciate your advice on this0
