New Capita-run Civil Service Pension Scheme - problems (what a surprise!)
Comments

UPDATE - eventually got through to a human on the phone and they said the problem was that their record had my FIRST NAME field as my initials and not my actual name. In other words, if their record does not 100% match the information that you are asked for and correctly enter then it won't work.I had to go through the whole process again with them, this time using the initials, only for it to be rejected once again because what I'd entered "...did not match our records".There followed some waffle about known glitches, porting data not completed etc. It's was clear that the poor person had been told to say this and to ask me to try again next week.It really doesn't bode well does it?2

Is this minor.... Multiple times with multiple providers they always seem to 'forget' your beneficiary details...0

Agree with all the comments here whilst the old site was not perfect it was far better than the rubbish that Capita have created. I used to love the interactivity of the old site where you could adjust you retirement age and it quickly calculated how much pension you could claim and what your lump sum would be and it presented it in an easy to read bar chart - sadly that function seems to have gone. Did Capita actually speak to any users before they created this site? Cab office need to get a grip of this they are the ones that negotiated the contract...My pension age is showing as 37 years 1532 days (says it all about this site)0

When I try putting Mrs.G-Js address in (same as mine, obvs) it said our postcode didn't exist.....after 18 years here we'd have noticed by now if it was wrong 🤣🤣🤣MikeWhite said:NormalNorman said:Is this minor.... After failing to even get onto the website earlier this week, I’ve been able to set up my account today. It did say to wait at least 15mins between registering and logging on, which I did. Even so, my account page is sparse, with no ABSs or beneficiaries, and my length of service isn’t accurate.
I attended the demo session for the new site during pension week in September, and it did look pretty good, so hopefully all the transition will be smoothed over soon, but it’s a shame it has clearly been rushed at the last minute.
We haven’t had any info at work (I spoke with someone on the payroll team and they are holding off putting anything on the intranet until the new site is stable). I think some depts are suggesting that unless people urgently need to register and contact Capita to hold off for the moment so that those at the point of retirement, etc. have a chance of getting through.
It was always going to be a challenge with over a million members needing to re register, but it has been a bit piecemeal and chaotic in finding out info.1 -
I managed to register eventually after having my emails recorded as already known before I'd completeed registration and having my account locked! I now find that my pay slips don't have my name on but seem to have taken details from my bank account which includes my late wifes name. Also I'm fairly sure I had set a death beneficiary but the system states this hasn't been set.
When Capita ran the pension system prior to MyCSP's takeover I was impressed with the system so hopefully it will improve. As an ex. IT manager I'm amazed that the fundamental errors identified so far got through system testing!1 -
I'm not panicking, as it's 3 years until I'll be looking to draw any of my CS pension. I get that the changeover is a big undertaking, but surely it's better not to 'go live' until everything is working correctly, thus avoiding all this chaotic uncertainty and concern?0

I managed to register and it looks like length of service is correct. No details on the pension itself though. Can't nominate beneficiaries so I will try not to die before they fix that bit.1
