New Capita-run Civil Service Pension Scheme - problems (what a surprise!)

If this was in reply to the email I received from Capita that I included in my post above, I don't know. It reads like a scam email from Malaysia and the email is obviously wrong for an individual trying to sort out their personal pension woes!

Joint statement from Capita and Cabinet Office, issued today.

Capita has just been featured on Watchdog on BBC1. Pretty brief.

On the One Show on the BBC One. (28th January), there's a segment about Capita and the shambolic mess they've made of taking over Civil Service pensions

And to be honest, I think all of the cases featured involved people who had put in for their pension well before Capita took over, meaning the issue really arose under MyCSP.
Not that I’m suggesting Capita haven’t been equally rubbish since they did take up the reins.

When logging in tonight, its the 1st time its shown my payslips, P60s and beneficiaries, since creating an account on the new system.
Will be interesting to see if my current tax code of D0 (on the payslips) changes from April onwards when I retire from work. Based on what others have said, I'm not holding out much hope.

Unless HMRC issue a new tax code then why would they (Capita) change it?

The very same company who had a data breach in 2023 affecting 6.6 million people.
I am sure the civil service pensions are safe though.
…… or are they?

I know one of the people in the cases shown, (very well!) and you are correct, his pension was finalized before Capita took over, but that is the issue, it was finalized. He was given his lump sum and pension figures that he agreed, all the paperwork was completed, he even rang up and made extra checks that it was all in place, it was done and dusted. All Capita had to do was push a button, but that didn't happen, Capita didn't act on what was completely sorted. And for Capita to blame it all on MyCSP is rubbish, they knew what they were taking on. Below is from the BBC Watchdog website…
When we asked why Capita’s takeover went ahead on 1st December 2025, despite the warnings it would not be ready, we were told that the contract with Capita was signed in 2023, and the transfer in December 2025 took place following a detailed assessment of Capita’s readiness.

Pretty much the exact same situation I'm in. All paperwork completed, returned and confirmed with mycsp back in October. Makes no sense why Capita can't just action my pension when everything is ready to go. I retired 3 weeks ago now and still have absolutely no idea when I will receive my lump sum or first pension payment.
