Refund of credit after switching

Did you tell them within your complaint that you are entitled to £80 compensation (£40 + £40) for the reasons stated within screenshots posted on this thread?andy1886 said:Received £40 yesterday1 -
Yes I did and I’ve just checked my EDF account and that is showing £40 credit so I suppose I need to contact them to get this credit , I guess it will take 10 working days to receive it . So for a tariff ending early October it takes until mid January to settle up . Again I think this is shocking and if I owed them money this would not apply , how many people just don’t bother etc .0

This is why I now pay via variable direct debit so there's no long wait for a final bill and refunds and no two lots of direct debit payments in the same month when you switch. It's amazing how quickly they produce your final bill when you owe them money.andy1886 said:Yes I did and I’ve just checked my EDF account and that is showing £40 credit so I suppose I need to contact them to get this credit , I guess it will take 10 working days to receive it . Ha ha yes this is what I suspect , I’ve thought about paying what I owe monthly but read that you don’t get the best tariffs this way , though in reality the difference is probably only penniesSwipe said:

You get the same tariffs as fixed monthly DD payments as long as you pay via variable direct debit but not every supplier offers it.andy1886 said:

Re my post on previous page, Scottish Power printing cheque exactly 14 calendar days after electricity final bill despite me at that time remaining gas customer with active DD, SP complaints handler agreed in first instance to pay me £40 plus £40 = £80 compensation.

My preference is to have credit balance with energy supplier keeping fingers crossed when switching out for failings and OFGEM compensation.
