    I once saw a chap who had a boat on a trailer parked on a road verge who refused to move it come back to find a trench had been dug up to the trailer and then hand dug under the trailer and the towing hitch supported by a sturdy plank of wood and trench carried on.It was several weeks before he got the use of his boat again.

    Subbies on price work do not like to get held up.

    Be interested if the OP could confirm or otherwise that the Openreach contractors did indeed provide access to the property during the works.
