You need the "My Sky" app and go onto "mobile" then "roll data". It does not do it automatically.Gobsh said:Do you have to do anything to roll the data over, or does it automatically use it when your monthly allowance runs out?XzavierWalnut said:I have had the same plan for about 9 months and have never had a problem rolling the data.
Currently have 100gb to roll over with 2 sims.0 -
Yeah, 12 monthers. O2 sims can be up to 24 months minimum term, which might be what you're thinking of?JSmithy45AD said:
Ahh, so they are only 12 months, could have sworn it was the same 24 month contracts as the TV & BB deals.tinker411 said:
They do indeed, and are pretty good about it. Likewise I've never had any issue rolling piggybank data.JSmithy45AD said:
Yes, from memory they give you a heads up, I never had an issue rolling over data.tinker411 said:Gobsh said:I just switched to Sky on 3GB month which ive never used before because i work from home on wifi 99% of my time
Just had a msg that Ive nearly used all my data??
It has a rolling data plan
My plan says I have 0.5 gb left
Also say I have "Piggybank data 1.4GB saved"
I tried "Roll Data" button but it asks me to change tarrif?????????
Am I out of data or not?

You've just switched but already have 1.4GB in your piggybank?
Anyway, going by what you've put above you have 0.5GB mobile data left - that'll be why you got a text.
I notice OP said they're on the 3GB plan, so it's either they've had it longer than they think or are using more mobile data than they'd expect (unlikely to be both).JSmithy45AD said:tinker411 said:Gobsh said:I just switched to Sky on 3GB month which ive never used before because i work from home on wifi 99% of my time

You're right about having data in the piggybank too, that makes it look they've had it for longer than they think. Which means they're in a 2 year contract? So good luck on changing suppliers.
That being said, all Sky Mobile sims are 12 month contracts, handset or not, so it's always worth checking how much it would cost to change sim supplier early (text INFO to 85075 for this as I recall).
It doesn't do it automatically, no. I use the my account bit on the Sky website rather than the app so to roll data for me it's login then select the following; Your Sky Piggybank > Roll Piggybank data > from here choose the amount of data that you want to roll, depending on how much you have, in 1GB lumps (so 1GB, 2GB, 3GB etc).Gobsh said:Do you have to do anything to roll the data over, or does it automatically use it when your monthly allowance runs out?1 -
I don't think it actually says anywhere in my account online. Closest I can find is under billing and check when the data is discounted until - mine is 12 months after signup. Texting INFO to 85075 will tell you how much, if anything, you'll be charged as of today to leave either way.Gobsh said:PS How do I know if I'm under contract??
