Hi
Usually when you go on their website to login to online banking it asks you to generate a code from your mobile app. But now it asks you to login to the app and scan a QR code that appears on the website. I have tried scanning the QR code several times but nothing happens...
Anyone else had this issue?

I rarely use mine but just tried logging in on HSBC website and was the same as always - username and DOB then use login code generated from app. Nothing about QR code which sounds rather suspicious tbh?1

No it's on their website
They are updating their login proceduresLogging on to online banking
You'll now have new ways to log onto online banking. You can log on using one of the below options, followed by your date of birth:
- Username
- Sort code and account number
- InvestDirect account number
Logging onto online banking with your app
If you use a Digital Secure Key, you'll now be able to log on to online banking by scanning a QR code from your mobile. This means you won't need to generate a code from the mobile banking app.

From the web page it seems to suggest this is an additional way to log on and the existing way of generating a secure code will remain. And that the introduction will be staggered to users.0

No for me it automatically tells you to open your app on the other device then it automatically requests you scan a QR code
There's no option to generate a security code instead
But the QR thing simply doesn't work- you scan it and nothing happens0 -
I am having this exact same issue and now cannot access my online banking on my laptop it is ridiculous. No option to bypass or log in any other way it is stupid.0

I accidentally chose the QR login method last weekend to log in on desktop browser. I just tried again today, and was able to revert back to the old method of generating security code on app and inputting the code on desktop. YMMV of course.0

Mine has no other options for log in, it automatically goes to the new QR code login that doesn't work. I have tried multiple days and times. Tried contacting HSBC about it and they had no clue what I was even talking about which wasn't helpful
