Hi,
Couple of questions if I may.
I'm preparing a defence for a claim by Horizon/Gladstones for a parking overstay.
On the day in question, my wife parked in a supermarket car park, shopped at the supermarket (we have evidence) and came to visit me in a nearby hospital. I was in intensive care at the time (fully documented), and from when she arrived, things went south pretty quickly for me, hence the car park overstay.
We later received a PCN. We tried reaching out to the supermarket, but received no response.
1) Is it worth including the medical drama in the defence, or isn't it relevant?
2) We logged into the Horizon parking portal when we received the PCN, and under 'Case Status' it said 'Cancelled' and the 'Outstanding amount' was £0.00. I took a screenshot of this, which has the exact time and date logged. We've obviously still been pursued for overstaying, but I hope we can submit this in the defence, as it appears to have been cancelled with nothing to pay.
Thanks in advance, and I'd appreciate any advice you can offer.

Definitely include this in para 3 of the Template Defence:
"We logged into the Horizon parking portal when we received the PCN, and under 'Case Status' it said 'Cancelled' and the 'Outstanding amount' was £0.00. I took a screenshot of this, which has the exact time and date logged."
And which year did this occur?
Might be worth NOT commenting on who was driving and also copying the extra para 4 seen in the Smart Parking defence by @Micky2022 because until a few months ago, Horizon never used the keeper liability law (the POFA).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Pretty sure that in 2024, Horizon notices didn't use POFA wording but you can check in my NTK pictures thread, which plots the changes.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
