There are a handful of broadband suppliers who offer shorter contracts, even down to one month.  But they tend to be more expensive than the usual suppliers.  So you may save little or no money by switching.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

I've not found those, who are they please?
  • USwitch have a page - https://www.uswitch.com/broadband/no-contract/ - which claims to find 'no contract' broadband deals, but I've tried it for various addresses and it keeps saying "No results found".

Are you sure that Openreach isn't available at the new address?

TBH I wouldn't hold my breath, it took OR nearly two years to get it sorted out where I live.

As Smithy says, is it really worth all the hassle to save £20-30.

Scrub that idea.  Those deals seem to have disappeared.  The only option now is a 4G or 5G mobile phone router, e.g. https://www.three.co.uk/broadband/no-contract
