Switching From Sky Full Fibre To Vodaphone Full Fibre

My property is currently connected to Sky Full Fibre. I am switching to Vodaphone Full Fibre.
How simple will be switch be?
Will it be a case of just swapping over the routers or will Sky's wiring need ripped out to be replaced by City Fibres wiring. Or do they maybe replaced the ONT box and swap the routers over?

I would be in the same situation as you if I were to change Provider. I'm assuming you are like me with present full fibre coming through BT OpenReach and since that an Alt. Network as been added to the BT/OR Pole.
I've noticed a couple of houses now have two fibre wires to their houses, which suggests complete new installation as been done.
So if I choose a new Provider they might use BT/OR or If cheaper for them use the Alt. and add a second system, they of course won't touch BT/OR and pull it as it is not theirs.0 -
It should be a straight swap.Al_Ross said:My property is currently connected to Sky Full Fibre. Vodafone website should give you all the info you need.
Do you have lots of devices connected to your current router.?
Some on MSE adviced to set new router to your old SSID as then you won't have to change all username/password on connecting devices.0 -
I have had a message from City Fibre saying they need acess on the day and its a 2-3 hour appointment for the instal and as I am the first in the block they will have to do a survey prior to instal date.0

So does that mean if you go with another supplier that you have not been with before you have to have a new install and another ONT/ box on a wall inside your house?dnpark38 said:

I don't know but I thought once you had fttp that was it.0 -
There is no definitive answer, it all depends on which infrasture provider has partnered with the ISP in a particular geographical area.Boohoo said:

i wonder if its FTTC or FTTP (Fibre to the Cabinet and Fibre to the Premises)I switched from Vodafone to Sky today. Previously, CityFibre were called out by Vodafone to set up my broadband. I just received a text from CityFibre saying they will be calling to install my broadband on behalf of Sky. I was previously on 80 Mbps, but I’m moving to 150 Mbps. Since the old 80 Mbps connection was FTTC (i think) and the new 150 Mbps connection uses FTTP (i think), I understand that CityFibre will need to make some changes to the wiring.I have a tendency to mute most posts so if your expecting me to respond you might be waiting along time!0
