I read previously on another thread that, unlike other suppliers, UW corrected a poster's ALCS to match the tariff schedule without any drama. This will be a good up to date test case for their customer service and their general understanding of E7 smart metering. Good luck and please update us with how you get on. I'd also insist on a bill correction so you are not out of pocket.1

Do you mean they kept the split times or moved to one block of E7?Swipe said:I read previously on another thread that, unlike other suppliers, UW corrected a poster's ALCS to match the tariff schedule without any drama. They didn't mention specific timings in the post but I'd just tell them to set it to the one you prefer and see what they say. Maybe it's cheaper for them to only supply it between 00:30-0730, who knows?lilac_dawn said:

From experience UW consider E7 to be like witchcraft, wizardry and the dark arts - they won’t have a clue and won’t be minded to make any real attempt to help.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I'm very interested to see how they deal with the request.EssexHebridean said:From experience UW consider E7 to be like witchcraft, wizardry and the dark arts - they won’t have a clue and won’t be minded to make any real attempt to help.0 -
I moved to UW to get the 5p off peak price. They transposed the readings. I know of another person who did the same, and there was a poster here recently where they had been transposed.EssexHebridean said:From experience UW consider E7 to be like witchcraft, wizardry and the dark arts - they won’t have a clue and won’t be minded to make any real attempt to help.
I believe the problem on tranposing is because when they ask for the readings on switching, they don't make it clear which box to input the readings is offpeak and peak. They did fix mine relatively straightforwardly (and other person I know) but I dont know about the other poster here.
However, I would not be as confident with the OP's issues unless they can find someone behind the scenes that knows what they are doing.

OK, so an hour on the phone and this is my verdict: firstly, UW were a LOT easier to deal with than OVO (I spent hours on the phone to them in Sept trying to sort out a RTS meter - not mine!)
Anyway, it took a while but the CS bod I spoke with immediately raised a complaint and got an engineer on the phone at his end (he said) who will reset the switch to match UW tariff times, at least that was my understanding. No more split times after 20 years
He also said it was midnight to 7, but it could be 00:30-7:30 (which it is, as that's what the meter did last night). This will be done without 24 hours and he will call back on Monday.
He also raised a complaint, without any prompting, about the bill and has frozen it until they are sure the timings have been sorted.
So I guess another late night to see if the immersion switches on at 00:30...
However, initial impressions of UW CS are good but will see what happens!

That sounds like a much better experience than I had with E.On Next when my meter ended up recording all my night usage on the day rate register instead of on off peak after a switch. That took two weeks of phoning every single day during a cold spell until I finally got through to someone who understood the problem and fixed it within 10 minutes.0

OVO were an absolute nightmare as they switched off my elderly mother's teleswitch meter without warning. She hadn't received anything from them at all about it but just woke up to find no hot water or heating. They tried to insist she call out an electrician and wouldn't have it that they could have possibly switched off her meter as they said she didn't have an RTS meter.
EDF were no better: my elderly neighbour chose a tariff which wasn't E7 so again found no heat from the storage heaters. Again, they said the heaters were at fault and kept insisting he call out an electrician. They didn't want to look into it any further.

That is far more positive experience than I suspected you were going to have - it really sounds as though they have upped their game! Fair play!
