@Fayolle - shame you didn't stay a bit longer - blue skies today!

I have removed the legs from my old pine table (s/h when I got it) and it's in the shed pending examination by the sally army who *might* take it for the CS (apparently the best-performing CS in the country!) along with the chairs.  The floor fitters kindly carried the top for me as it was too heavy and bulky for me to manoeuvre.  I took the table legs and chairs to the shed.

Floor now going down.  It's very noisy.

    Milk bill paid.

I have just finished decorating the 24x 4-inch square Christmas cakes that I started last night  I decided to cut down to 4 designs instead of 6 this year, which made it easier to do production-line style.  Glad that's done, it's a very fiddly job.

Rosie is telling me that she would like to go out for her walk NOW, please, while the sun is still out.  I expect DH can wait another hour for lunch.

This afternoon I've got to ice some muffins for refreshments and make the cookies to go in the coffee jars that I've been saving.  Again, I'm cutting down the number of different types of cookie from the long list that I produced when I first started planning.  I'm thinking: mini-Twinks with a cherry or almond on top, chocolate and vanilla curls (think slices of Swiss roll), German Christmas stars, and ginger shortbread biscuits with slices of stem ginger.  The taste testing will do me no good - any volunteers?

Of course I am tidying up the kitchen as I work...

Not a lot of flying here. I went into ex work at lunchtime for a catch up, dropped in at Mr T on the way and got some flowers for DSiL who we are seeing on Saturday. A few other bits which have been missing from Mr M for weeks now were also purchased so they are finally off my list. Picked up a JL c&c from Mr W on my way home - I got the notification that it was there just as I got to the decision making road - home or car park, so that has saved another special journey. That’s DH’s joint birthday / Christmas present sorted.
Mr M delivered early, shopping unpacked and put away. HHI done. Lists for tomorrow, copious lists, have been written. Tomorrow I must knuckle down…
Iona, one tester volunteer here 😉, although I fear it will not help my half hearted slinky attempts.
Valli, ah the story of my life.  Everyone I worked with knew (and still know) full well, never ever book a holiday the same time as me. Rain guaranteed.  Apart from when I go prepared for chill, then an unseasonal heatwave will hit.

    Hi all

What a week!  The paid stuff is stupidly busy and I am frazzled.  I am just thankful that my job is not always this busy and stressful, although it is never easy.  I have also had a disagreement with DS over plans for his birthday which upset me more than it should have done.

Flying has been limited to the basics.  Iona that sounds lovely, I had a meeting with a charity yesterday and brought back a little bag of different homemade biscuits which I sat and ate at my desk one after the other xx

I will take one for the team and test.  Am thinking  could fill those coffee jars with cookies or fudge. Or Grantham Gingerbreads.  The posh neighbours sell them in boxes… jars would make lovely gifts…

     Photos of cakes please.

New floor vacuumed and mopped.  Also hall floor.  Looks lovely.  Room empty awaiting furniture.

     Ironing done.
