YL sorry to hear about your dog.
Not bad journeys to and from Dorset although plenty of traffic as per usual around the Heathrow area. Had a fairly tearful weekend as it is now clear to even my denial brain that Mum is gradually getting weaker. I had 2 visits and she dozed for much of them, although smiled at me whenever she awoke. Certainly not up to writing her Christmas cards so I may just have to do a round robin letter in a couple of weeks. Christmas plans are uncertain.
Got back via a shop stop at Mr A.
Unpacked.
Put away clean clothes which had been hanging on drier rack since Saturday.
Went to zumba.
Checked my comments on the needs and performance of my new student last week , wrote a session plan for tomorrow.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
Morning all.
Dentist 'bulked out' the filling and, although there's a slight 'awareness' of it it is nowhere near as bad as it was and I haven't taken painkilers.
Plumbers have been, they've re-connected the DR radiators and recharged the boiler and done the two extra jobs I asked for - unblocking the basin in the bathroom and retrieving the little brush I waggle down the plughole to gather hair and which I let go of. The blockage wasn't the trap and the plunger was administered. The other job was to stop the dripping tap in the kitchen which didn't drip if shut off in a certain way.
Message from docs asking me to contact pharmacies to source the drug the regular pharmacy couldn't get hold of. Now means a trip to town to B00ts but i shall have a mooch while I am there. Now I am waiting to hear that my prescription has been sent.

We had a great evening out at the big concert hall in the city last night - stunning music played by an excellent German orchestra under the baton of our former local maestro whose conducting is nothing short of amazing. The journey home was horrendous, as the heavy rain had resulted in some quite deep flooding at points all along the main road. Fortunately DH's car has a petrol engine and is quite high off the ground, so with extra care and slow speed (so as not to rock the boat car) I got us safely home with dry feet, but there is more rain to come today and DDiL1 has to go into the city to run her glass stall at the craft market 10-10 and she has an EV. I wouldn't risk taking one of those through the floods we experienced!
I did manage some odd bits of flying before we went out - mainly just keeping up with the dailies - and did a little more work on my goodies for the FF, but I'm out again most of today, so what's left to do will have to wait until tomorrow. Being realistic, I'm not sure that I shall get round to doing a lot more sewing: it's more important to get the cakes and jars of cookies finished.
Please keep safe, warm and dry if you can.

Glad your tooth is sorted Valli.Walked the dog, reboiled the duck stock saucepan which is now cooling on the hob and made breakfast for both of us. Now settled at my desk to clear three jobs that need to be done today. There's a difference between Urgent and Important and I need to resist the jobs that aren't urgent.Have kept on top of the vacuuming for the past 10 days now that I have a cordless thingy in my office near the litter tray so the house looks much better. We had a couple of friends in last night to celebrate a pair of pictures coming back from the framers where they've been since the day after the auction about a month ago. They're by a local artist who died some years ago and we saw the pair at her second exhibition a couple of months after we met and both loved them. They're our first Not A Thing Anniversary present to ourselves. They're now waiting to be hung in our dining room which is why we invited the friends in; we weren't absolutely sure where they should go. We are now. Very, very happy with them.Better is good enough.9

Afternoon all 👋
November always seems to be bonkers for us, so have been busy fitting in flying when poss. Trying to keep on top of daily S&S-ing, PUPA, tidying - doesn't always work as planned but whatchagonnadoo 🤷♀️. Also, stupid sore throat season is upon me, which robs me of energy.
Today, have managed the usuals, plus...
✔️WM x2
✔️DW x1
✔️Thorough bathroom clean, including the cupboard 'neath-the-sink
✔️S&S kitchen
Also, we went for a walk & did a bit of top-up shopping
Got 6 monthly oncologist appt tomorrow afternoon 🤞

Afternoon all,
I am sneaking back in after a few days away in Valli-land for my birthday. DD organised it all, DH paid - ideal arrangement! We doffed caps and curtseyed to Valli’s neighbours, ate out every night so that I had nothing to do, and stayed in a flat with stunning views. The climb back up from the town certainly helped to walk off some of the calories. We managed a walk yesterday in the hours when it wasn’t raining, so that was a bonus. Horrendous drove home this morning / afternoon - 4.5 hours instead of the 3 hours to get there.
Flying has been non existent, although I did pick up a couple of small C-presents as a bonus. Unpacking done. Wm x 1 has been run, zillion more to go tomorrow. Mr M slot secured for tomorrow afternoon, mainly storecupboard stuff as the freezer is still showing no sign of any gaps and really should be.
I’m sorry to hear about your dog, YL.Hugs to Narc0 x5 -
there is so much about; I've had an annoying cough for a while which now seems to have morphed into a cold. So, although I'd been looking forward to a planned breakfast out with friends visiting in the area, I stayed home and slept in. Got up in time for dentist and hygienist; luckily no treatment needed so no expense (other than the fortune they get each month). Went back to bed for much of the afternoon.eltee2 said:Also, stupid sore throat season is upon me, which robs me of energy.
I did manage to put one load through DW and one load washing on as not much of my personal energy required.
Did a bit of drumming practice.
Reluctantly cancelled zumba.
