There are several ways to send meter readings to BG.
    Why are they all impossible?

    Thanks for the link.
I've tried at different times using my online account, but am shown -

You don’t need to give a meter reading today

We’ve opened your account with an estimated reading, using information from the energy network. If you gave us a reading, we’ll use it to make sure your bills are accurate.

There is no way to enter a MR manually at that stage. I supplied an accurate opening MR when asked, which is showing, so not sure why they're telling me it's an estimate.

The over the phone option on that link doesn't give me the phone number of the automated line to call. Yes, I probably could google it, but it would be better if their link worked.

I have zero interest in yet another app, my poor phone struggles enough.

While I'm keeping my own MR photos, it seems odd that I can't submit one online yet - my account has been open since 12 Nov.

I have a history with BG & their customer service, as do many of my friends, so hoping things have improved. While keeping good records & planning for the worst.

Is this standard practice with SOLR? I can't imagine where such a low d/d figure would come from - any ideas?

    It isn't typical, no.
    Were Tomato billing you correctly?
Just wondering if there is little or no history on your account, hence the low estimate...

It does work.  Disable any adblocker, click on Call Us and it'll show
Can I call to give a meter read?

The quickest way to give a meter read is online or via our app. If you want to give a meter read via the phone you can use our automated service, you’ll just need your customer account number and meter reads to hand.

If your customer account number starts with an A or BGX then call 0330 054 5340.

    Lines are available 24/7.

Thanks for confirming it's not usual - did anyone else have a ridiculously low d/d suggested?

TE billed me correctly from day 1 (Jan 25) but not yet had a final bill.

There's no usage showing on my BG account, so I hope they're collecting the meter data correctly - I expect they are & I'm just not seeing it yet. They've told me I've saved 41p from last Sunday's peaksave event, so there must be data somewhere.
