  • Hi, I've requested my PAC but when it arrived, I was also advised to pay off my device plan before moving contract.  Is this right?  I thought I'd read that they are separate contracts.

Yes they are seperate contracts. You can continue to pay your device plan if you cancel your airtime plan but you have to contact o2 to arrange it.
If i were you i would wait until you use your PAC before contacting o2 (be prepared for a long wait on either phone or live chat) as that was the mistake i made not knowing it was an instant termination for " no penalty" cancellation, and resulted in losing my number.
    Hope this helps

So how can this be avoided then? Would getting a new SIM first and then requesting the PAC code also cancel your contract, or would they simply reject the transfer?

It is something I have also be pondering doing myself but the story in the OP is putting me off a little.
Getting a new SIM and using PAC code would cancel your airtime contract however, if you also have a device plan you would need to contact o2 to arrange to continue paying this monthly, otherwise they would expect it to be paid off in full.

As i had a PAC number BEFORE my number was cancelled will it still transfer to NEW sim when its activated?
O2 pac codes are meant to be valid for 30 days

Both my phone and watch contracts were terminated and I have been sent an Enforcement letter. Spoke to o2 so many times and last night was told, pay off the plans or send products back. They were terminated under clause 17 of contract, my watch contract is 36 months old so not even within the 24 month clause 17. Just don’t know what to do now. All I wanted was a new airtime plan.

Indeed they are. However as my old number has been terminated the PAC code wont retrieve it. This was confirmed by o2 when i contacted them again last night.

Sadly it appears o2's "no penalty" termination clause is anything but that. They appear to have numerous ways of "penalising" deserters other than financially. Maybe keep trying to reason with them. Do you still have the original price rise notification email frim o2? Im sure it states on there you can continue to pay monthly device plan if you cancel airtime plan.

Yes I do still have the email, I also have the online chat stating that I can continue to pay monthly. The Enforcement letter is very threatening. I will try the o2 shop to see if they are any more helpful.
