DCB Legal Letter of Claim on behalf of UK Parking Control Limited

Okay great, thank you!
So to clarify, I understand that for now I should:
1. Email DCB and provide them a suitable c/o address for correspondence. I will also explain that I intend to defend the claim in court.
a. I presume I could request email correspondence going forward?
b. Should I mention that I this letter of claim is the first correspondence I have received? Or keep this information quiet for now?
2. I will then await a court claim form (N1SDT) form?
a. My understanding then, is that I will need to submit a defence on MCOL, and that defence will look something like the one linked below:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6576011/cel-dcb-legal-pcn-cnbc-claim-defence-assistance-required-please
3. I will then hopefully receive a discontinuance prior to actual court date.0 -
Okay, I've spoken to my friends whom I trust - and they don't feel comfortable with me using their address for something related to court claims or debt collection.
I also don't trust what limited family options I have.
Does anyone have any experience using any paid for service (PO box type thing) to receive mail who then scan it etc. ?
I feel very uneasy going through this process, without being able to receive mail reliably0 -
No you can't do that. Why on earth won't friends let you use their address for service? Flipping heck, what are they imagining?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

They're concerned about linking their address to any possible court case / bailiff company.Coupon-mad said:No you can't do that. Why on earth won't friends let you use their address for service? Flipping heck, what are they imagining?
I don't see much option to be honest. I'm going to provide a PO box address (using a service that will scan and email my mail to me) so that I do not miss any post.
My only other option I would feel comfortable with would be just paying the £170. I just do not trust the mail system on the military base. So much of my mail goes missing.0 -
Okay, so I have today (within the 30 days) sent the a response as a PDF letter attached to an email to the info at email address listed on the letter of claim.
It has provided them with a PO box address to update their records with.
And I used the wording from the newbie thread:
The alleged 'debt' is disputed, and any court proceedings will be vigorously defended.

Question - is it normal to have not had any reply yet from DCB to my email?
I really don't want to phone them, but I'm concerned that they haven't acknowledged my email. Or even sent an automatic response.0 -

Did you receive an automatic response when you sent the email? If not, I would send it again, checking the address carefully. You could add yourself to the email as a bcc and if you get it, that proves there is nothing wrong with your sending.HiddenIdentity_9782 said:Question - is it normal to have not had any reply yet from DCB to my email?

No I got no automated response which was concerning. But I've already resent (a week after the first email) and I checked the email address (info@) very carefully.Le_Kirk said:HiddenIdentity_9782 said:Okay, so I have today (within the 30 days) sent the a response as a PDF letter attached to an email to the info at email address listed on the letter of claim.

I guess they are just slow at responding? It is very concerning though as I also don't trust any posted correspondence to get to me - and I am anxious to know they have updated their address to my PO box so that I can confirm that I will receive their mail or more importantly any letters from the courts.0 -
