Evening.
My intention was to follow the list but I did a U-turn as I think I need to spend a few weeks on my frog rooms and get them into shape before I launch myself into the lists.
I spent most of the morning mucking out the utility room - AKA dumping ground - AKA "can't see the floor for washing"
I am now aching but its looking good! I gave the dryer a good overhaul cleaning all the filters, sorted all the cupboards in here did most of the washing and even tackled the dread sock basket chucking 100s of socks! My friend came for coffee this afternoon and I downed tools but going to finish this room tomorrow and sort and iron the clean clothes.
Desperately need to sort some sort of laundry system out for the 2 adults and 4 teenagers we have here! It so easily gets out of hand 🙈

Babs…that sounds like a task to be delegated. Not like they have to go down the river and bash it on rocks.
WM and DW locked and loaded. came back from swimming with ajar of quince jam and have found a home for my old sat nav.

Welcome back and well done Babs. Can your teenagers pair the socks when they're washed and dried?Plumber came and did that, 'Ooooh, that's serious' breath suck while looking at the precariously perched heated towel rail. He did something radical to it, removed and chucked out the element, sucked his breath again, went back to his van for a hose, went back to his van for a bucket, went back to his van for a cap which he fitted to it, and will return later in the week to finish the repair and reseal the bath. I like him a lot and he's very good, but I can't help but think he's making a bit of a mountain out of this job, bearing in mind he fitted it in the first place. After he'd gone I looked at the bit of wall that is usually covered by the rail and towels and realised that it was one of the holidays our favourite painter and decorator left when he repainted the bathroom last year. (There are a lot of holidays in that bathroom.) I like the painter and decorator a lot as well, and I'm glad he didn't get paint all over the heated towel rail but as we've got paint brushes and white paint Belovéd is going to slap some on while the rail is off the wall.I tried to finish a job that's been hanging around for a few months, realised a timetable that is critical to the arrangements won't be published until the new year and so it's another half-finished project still in my In Tray. Frustrating, but at least Belovéd could concentrate long enough to make a decision that saves us a few hundred quid and a couple of days travel we don't need to do, so that was a positive.I made the T!l T0k pasta for the first time tonight that was all the rage about four years ago for supper with feta and tomatoes, but on the hob rather than put the oven on, and Belovéd absolutely loved it. Apparently it's even more scrumptious with a sprinkling of balsamic vinegar. We'll defo be doing that again.Better is good enough.Note to self: Motivation follows Action, not the other way around.7

Glad the procedure went well for Mr Ionafan.
Welcome Babs.
It's been a very busy and social weekend with quite a bit of cooking, flying and organising which at times was frantic but all worked out well. BIL arrived on Thursday evening and we had a good day in London finished off with a local Indian meal. Sat was a lake swim, still good enough for no wetsuit so yippee nothing hanging in the shower to dry for days. Sat eve was cousin's 60th, 45mins drive away but a lovely evening and not only was the gf chocolate cake appreciated, there was enough to bring home. Sunday was a different set of visitors to lunch so I'd cooked soup and a lemon polenta cake the day before. Cheese and corn flatbread recipe (found when I was culling my Mr T magazines) was a success and it made way more than I expected. Soup and flatbreads all finished with no leftover; a few slices of each cake are in the freezer.
Today started with DanceFit and a trip to M@t@n to get some new reading glasses as both mine are armless. Got home and realised I'd left them by the till.....fortunately I was going back that way later for my Alexander lesson so was able to collect them.
Cousin and gf came round for the afternoon (finished the choc cake) on their way to the airport as they live in Galway.
Paperwork prepared for new student tomorrow.
Did drumming practice.
So house is still clean; Mr N made enough risotto for tonight for 4 but cousin decided not to stay so we have tomorrow's dinner.
Booked Trave11odge to visit Mum on Sunday; now thankfully down to winter prices - £26.99 for the 2 of us!!
Refill pockets for the newish recipe file arrived.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
It's tough getting rid of the past but it does free up space for the future.8 -
Well I’ve just had a busy couple of hours, Took DH to the pub as it’s his birthday (3rd) came Back after dropping him off, walked the dog with DS 2 then we decided to bath the dog and it’s a 2 man job and as aDS2 was home best get it done.
I do bath the dog myself but I need an extra pair of hands as the dog weighs 7.5 stone,he’s an American bulldog and not keen.
Bathing the dog had a knock on effect as I cleaned the bathroom and before I knew it the bathroom and toilet were clean and mop.
Put the dog towels in the washing machine then again before I knew it the whole house is clean and I’ve just put a wash on.
Now It’s time to sleep. Xx
Trying to change my life and will:money:8 -
Valli - never tried Quince Jam, so googled it and now want to try it 😀
Honeybear - haha.. nothing like a "sucky in breath" builder. We have a Decorator that is the same.. must be part of their training 🤪 and never heard of the pasta dish but sounds nice.
Narc0lepsy - wow! What a busy weekend! I'm exhausted reading it. And £26.99 is a bargain!
Teaparty! - The whole house is clean and so is the dog! I am in awe.. you don't live near me do you and fancy popping round and putting the kettle on which might lead you to clean my whole kitchen? 🤣 Well Done!
My list for the day: not in any particular order
[ ] Keep 2 year old grandson fed and alive till pick up at 4pm
[ ] Take parcel to post office
[ ] Sort the now clean clothes pile dumped on the sofa in the front room and leave them for the teens to put away after school themselves!
[ ] Go pick up my bread and butter club food at 1.30pm
[ ] Finish the Utility Room and mop the floor throughly - caked on washing powder is not nice
[ ] Finish all the washing in the whole house and start a new laundry system!

Morning all. Struggling with wordle this morning.
Yesterday I did actually do some flying as DD arrived later than usual. I cleaned windows in LR and kitchen and s&sd bathroom and downstairs loo. This morning I have swept the patio of a very messy toy/game that some kind person bought DGD2 for her birthday and I've put clean throws on the sofas. Also got parcels ready to post today.
I'm picking the car up from the garage this morning combined with Poppets walk. It was ready last night but I couldn't be bothered to go out in the dark.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
Babs, this is the recipe. It's one of those that is much greater than the sum of its parts. It fed both of us very greedy people last night with enough left over for lunch for one of us today.Better is good enough.Note to self: Motivation follows Action, not the other way around.5

I'm up, made my bed, etc etc. It's a work day so the usual routine. I completed Strands with no hints, Wordle in four, and Connections with no lives lost.
Have a good day.
