Can my radiator be fixed or do I need to replace it?

WIAWSNB said:Assuming this is a Purmo rad, I understand it carries a 10-year warranty. So, well within.OP said they're Ultraheat, like this one.
The plumber's merchant website linked above says that Ultraheat rads also come with a 10-year warranty, so since OP says they're less than ten years old the rest of your suggestion still holds.WIAWSNB said:Run this past the company. Tell them the evidence you have - annual services of your system, and indications are a flaw and not rust. Add that you'll get your GS to confirm with a visual report. Check they'll comply.

How do you know it was 2017?anonymous12124 said:Boohoo said:Maybe in the system but as I am aware it is not part of the annual service or it has not been on my boiler for 4 years since new.
You haven't said how old the boiler or rads are and if you have added any new radiators to the system.
If leaking water the system maybe have corrosion as in your leaky rad.
Topping up with inhibitor would not do any harm.My boiler and magnafilter were installed in January 2017 along with all the radiators.0 -
I got it done before I moved into the house, that March 2017. So it's absolutely not 10 yrs old yet.WIAWSNB said:How do you know it was 2017?

If this was my home/issue I would check all the rads for leaks by looking underneath for rust spots and other things that should not be there.anonymous12124 said:

As they are the same brand(assuming) it may have been a dodgy batch.
If you have done all then disregard my post.0 -
Have a word with your LegProt - assuming you have this on your house insurance - and see if a claim can be made.anonymous12124 said:

I'd have thought a 'beyond reasonable doubt' level of evidence should suffice.
Coupled with dropping into the conversation that Martin Lewis's website forum is interested in the outcome...0 -

If you have done all then disregard my post. This is a great point and I've asked the entire family to pay attention. Even a tiny leak like this will soon create a wet spot on the carpet or pool on the laminate flooring.S far it only looks like it's this one radiator. This is also the first week we've used the heating properly this year.

Yes I have buildings and content cover but I'll have to go through the paper work. Forgive me for being ignorant, but what do you mean by the final statement?WIAWSNB said:Have a word with your LegProt - assuming you have this on your house insurance - and see if a claim can be made.

Just an 'aside' that how Ultraheat respond to your request that they honour their guarantee, when you can pretty much demonstrate the installation date even if you don't have the actual invoice, is observable on a ML's public forum. 'You'd like to be able to relate how Ultraheat came up trumps..."
It might not make any difference whatsoever, but some companies will respond favourably, after initially saying 'non', if it's pointed out that folk are watching.0 -
You must have some CH invoices from that time? Your boiler is still under warranty, isn't it? Who services it to maintain the warranty - the installer? Surely they will be happy to write a confirmation note of what they installed?0

I've taken off the radiator and I've found the problem I'm sure. I took it off and turned it upside down, these things are flipping heavy! See picture below of where the hole is. It's so tight and near that bar that I couldn't peel away much of the paint.Ultraheat said to call back on Monday.WIAWSNB said:You must have some CH invoices from that time? The only paper I still have is for the boiler and a gas safety certificate dated 2017.
