                    Hello,
So my partner is off to Tenerife, we both bank with the same bank and I was wondering that if I need to send them emergency funds for any reason while they are there and I'm sending it as £ could I do it as a standard transfer or is it an international transfer with fees etc?
They were planning to exchange it to euros at the other end.
Cheers

It depends on how long your partner will be away, and how much you are talking about.
For short term they could use UK based FX friendly debit cards or credits card to access funds and pay for things.
If this long term, they will likely need a local bank account. Then you can look at options such as Wise.

Where would you be sending the money? If it's to their sterling denominated UK account then it would be as normal and they'd incur the fees when they exchange the money.tony3619 said:Hello,

You just do a standard transfer in £ as normal.
They can then withdraw that money in € if needed. Just make sure the bank doesn't charge for foreign withdrawals and you are following advice such as debit money in local transaction so your bank does the exchange rather than the ATM.0 -

It would be a standard transfer as if we were both here in the UK except they would be in Tenerife.wmb194 said:

They would then use revolut or something similar to exchange into euros0 -

It doesn’t matter where they are, what matters is where the accounts are and their currencies. For you there would be no fees, for them there would be a fee if they convert the money.tony3619 said:
