    Morning all,
I have been racking my little brain to remember what I did yesterday. Finally it came to me - cleaned the ensuite, washed a load of pots in the gh,, then an absolutely riveting afternoon catching up on admin. And there was a lot. I now have a list of the admin still to do, but it is slightly more under control.
The wm is running now, I will hang the clothes up before I head off to the allotment to finally plant the garlic. DH has headed off to the tip with DD’s old dismantled wardrobe. Mr M is due to deliver this afternoon, but not as much as ordered due to Unavailable Items. Vegetable oil?? Cocoa powder hasn’t been available for weeks now.
I think that is pretty much it as planned for today right now. Dw to empty then I will crack on.
Congratulations to Eltee. Enjoy your NH.

It's a bit late for me to say Congratulations to Eltee for her CP and NH but Congratulations! anyway.
I had a bit of a meltdown this week because I feel so bogged down by everything that needs doing, and that I'm falling further and further behind all the time.  No matter how much I do there's always so much more that needs my attention because Belovéd, fabulous though he is, really believes that bunging one of my homemade lasagnes between the freezer to the oven is cooking, and vacuuming once a week is all he needs to contribute to running the house.  I'm pleased to say he's taken what i said to heart but I feel very low about having to say it all yet again.  There's always a flurry of activity around the time I say something and then a couple of weeks later it's back to the same old same old.
I really don't really feel I've got anything to contribute at the moment.
    Better is good enough.

Exactly.  Not to mention furniture tetris and Festive Fayre tetris!

    Morning all.
Congratulations to eltee and OH on your CP and then dealing with your first "partners for life" frog.  May you enjoy many more of them!

    Yesterday I
    - S&S'd the kitchen and bathroom
    - did WMx3; TD some, hung the rest in the bathroom; FUPA what was dry
    - cleaned my bedroom and (the furniture not being in its usual place) realised just how grimy the carpet looks in the places where Rosie sleeps.  She's a very clean dog, and I am sure it's just natural grease from her coat, but she prefers to sleep on carpet rather than blankets or her own rug. - I shall have to persuade her otherwise.
    - emptied the Dy$on twice and recharged it
    - decided that the old bed would not pass the CS inspection anyway,  so cancelled the CS collection and arranged for it to be taken away instead by the people delivering my new one
    - sorted the still-good duvets that I am going to cut down to single size - very MSE
    - printed out extra posters for the Fayre, which I'll laminate once I can get to the drawer in the study where I keep the machine (the way is currently blocked by family history boxes)
    - persuaded DH to get up at 12:15 and sent him out to his clinic appointment, from which he eventually returned saying that he ached all over (he went back to bed at 10.00pm and is thankfully somewhat better this morning)
    - accepted an invitation for us both to have tea with DS1&Co tomorrow
    - dealt with various bits of admin
    - started pinning up the new curtain hems, ready for sewing today
    - finished off the last of 4 knitted snowmen and a cat whilst watching Traitors; am left with an eyeless and beakless owl until I can find the buttons and a bit of felt (or similar)
    - made up 12 out of 24 mini cake boxes.

Onwards and upwards.  Remember to keep back some spoons for the weekend shenanigans.

HB,  never, ever feel like that on here.  Even if it is letting off steam to us, we are listening. The club that you and Iona are in is shared by many of us, me included. I might as well watch the off switch ping in DH’s head 5 minutes after we have had a similar conversation. And even if he isn’t actually saying La La La out loud, I can still see it going round inside his mind. I would quite happily borrow Mr Narc0 once a month, but I don’t think that would help Narc0 or fit in with his plans!
My flying peaked at about 9am. The rest of the morning has been spent at the allotment, where there is plenty to do, but I try to ignore it if I don’t get to it. I came home with celeriac, beetroot, chard and carrots. And so the meal plan changes. Again, and again, and again. I ought to tackle more admin this afternoon, but I am not feeling the love there. Maybe soup for lunch will revive the resolve. And maybe it won’t.

Thanks Ionafan and Fayolle.  Yesterday after my epic meltdown on Monday Belovéd did a couple of things he should have done weeks ago; this morning I cleared up after he'd dumped a load of stuff in an area I've moved heaven and earth to tidy and keep clear.  It's not that he doesn't see it.  He's just got into the habit of leaving everything to me.  I had to say, 'I'm more important than your work.'  He sets his own work agenda and it's been a very useful excuse for three decades to avoid doing everything he doesn't particularly want to do.
'Is this a space I see before me, the space all mine to grab?' to misquote Macbeth.
I've gone right back to basics and told him I have written a list and he's going to have to do one of the jobs on it every day, Monday to Friday, so we don't have to revisit this conversation every couple of / few months in the same epic meltdown and then rinse and repeat.  I cannot live like this.
I know men are better at being asked to do a very specific task than noticing what's needed but honestly ....
I'll just file this under Household Management for now.
    Better is good enough.
