EDF have changed Economy 7 times

Hi All,
Magically, after i communicated with edf yesterday using comments and technical terms I learned from you all, the time settings appear to have been restored to my proper E7 settings. I will watch over the next day or so and do a repeat of the test i did last week with just a NSH on overnight.
Hopefully my ALCS wont have been screwed up with the restoration of proper time settings.
I will also await the bill to see if it is based on actual meter readings or what is showing on the web.
Once all is correct i will let them close the case.
Thankyou to all - you helped me confidently tell then what needed doing.

Really good news - thanks for sharing!pattymac33 said:... the time settings appear to have been restored to my proper E7 settings.
Just a word of caution: 'proper E7 settings' covers two sorts of settings: the tariff switching table, which dictates when offpeak periods start and end, and the ALCS calendar, which dictates when a restricted feed (e.g. to heating equipment) switches on and off. In a normal E7 environment, the two distinct schedules will be identical. Sadly, they often aren't. It's also often a tedious process to find out just what timings the two schedules comprise.I'm not being lazy ...

I’m having a similar problem with my mum’s new smart meter. EDF have replaced her old RTS complex meter with a SMETS2 smart meter, but are taking their time commissioning it.
It’s showing 2 readings, which I assume are peak and off-peak, but her NSH is coming on at odd times and looks like most of the usage is registering as peak usage.
She is supposed to be being moved to an Economy 7 tariff, but her online account is still showing the old tariff.
Is it likely that the meter is configured to E7 hours, but the heater is still being controlled by the tariff? Or another schedule? The times the NSH comes on appear to be 9-11pm, 12-2 am, 7-10am, 4-5pm according to the graphs online. These are not the previous timings, nor E7 timings. It’s hard for me to check accurately as I don’t live there and she is too frail to check it herself.
I have queried it with EDF but they don’t seem to be rushing to sort it out. I’m concerned mum is going to get hit by a big bill if it’s not set up correctly.
Any advice please?
sorry to tag onto an oldpost but I’m a newbie on here and can’t start posts yet 🤷♀️0 -
Raise a complaint and get it in writing that her bill will be recalculated once fixed so your mother will not be out of pocket by their mess up.CrazyMaisy55 said:
