Just wondered what technology allowed them to look through metal ?
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

The range of electromagnetic frequencies they're scanning will be able to reflect off planes such as the windscreen, metal bodywork, etc.0

Looking through metal ?..... is it not just getting all it's info from seeing through the windscreen0

It's not viewing through metal, only through glass. Also be aware that speed camera operators also record seat belt, phone use and incorrectly arranged number plates too. Last year we had a visitor that had a cheeky number plate that spelt his name, he was grumbling that he had received a fixed penalty notice in the post for an incorrectly spaced number plate that had been recorded by a speed camera van operator. North Yorkshire Police upload a spreadsheet of locations and offences recorded by their speed camera van operators:0

That's a dog on the front passenger seat - if that's not an offence then it should be.Mildly_Miffed said:

Well they'll be busy!
A good 30 pc of drivers I see round town here are eating, drinking, on phone or vaping.
Those in lorries going round small roundabouts are downright scary. Two different ones drove into a school fence. One smiling said to me 'i was watching videos '
I'm not saying I've never done it back in the day, smoking back then, but only on quiet roads I knew well. Never in traffic.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on
The only normal people you know are the ones you don’t know very well

One smiling said to me 'i was watching videos 'I once stood at the side of the road after lighting up time and watched 20 cars go past, 4 of them, which is 20%, had defective or no lights.Of course, the police catch cars without insurance etc when an officer stops a car, but AI could catch numerous acts of wrong doing and send the registered keeper a fine.0 -
I think we’re really scratching the surface of what AI can do in terms of crime detection - at my last startup we were able to make lots of surprisingly accurate judgements about retail customers as they were walking into a store and way before they made a purchase - including the ones at high risk of stealing.Pretty soon traffic enforcement will look more like Minority Report where police know about the crime before the driver decides to commit it.0

I am sure there was a thread on this a while back.
EDIT - Found it. I hope the OP finds it interesting.
