I'm a little confused as a previous reply on my post, by another person, states to use the standard appeal letter, changing the registered keeper to hirer
As 'hirer' the PPC has even more onerous requirements placed on them than just pursuing the 'registered keeper'.

As a little hint when assessing advice on a forum - check out the poster's post count to give you an idea of how much confidence you might be able to place in their advice.

There's no way I'd be allowed to rack up almost 44 thousand posts over more than 12 years if I was shooting crap!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • Hi all, great news, but im afraid I need more help.

I received an email from APCOA in reply to my appeal.

'We have carefully reviewed your appeal, and the evidence provided, taking into consideration all the points you have raised, and, on this occasion, we have decided to cancel this Parking Charge.

As this Parking Charge has been cancelled, there is no further action required by you at this time.'

However, as I mentioned in my original post, I advised that I had dropped off customers twice, and picked up customers once, therefore there were three visits in one day, and I was expecting three letters from them.

I received one, and that is the one I appealed, with the reply received above.

It appears that was from a different visit, a week or so previously.

On the same day I received their reply advising the Parking Charge had been cancelled, I received three letters through the post for the three visits where I forgot to pay.

Do I send them three more, separate appeals with the same wording as the last one, and will that work a second time, but for all three Parking Charges.

Thanks so much for all your help.

    Yes.

Have you not read the Airport Drop Off Group thread? No discussion on any other thread is needed about these ones (read the group thread which we won't link, no need).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I have received three APCOA PCNs for Manchester Airport pick-up/drop-off in the same day. Just appeal each one with the identical appeal and they will be cancelled.

One of the PCNs was for a second "transgression" overlapped by the first. On 22/06/2025 09:38-09:47 "Use of Pick-up/drop-off zone without making a valid payment, and on the same date 09:46-09:47 "Pick-ip in Drop-off".

I did make complaints to the DVLA and escalated but as usual, a fob-off. I lost the will to live bothering with taking it further but may now consider a CMA complaint. The DVLA's excuse... they just accepted APCOA's explanation that there were “two separate contraventions” on the same brief visit. Custards (Jeremy Clarkson's new profanity, combining two into one. I’m sure you can work it out!)
